I'm on my 3rd season running 225/40 on 18x8.75, no issues at all.

He only suggested increasing the width by 10mm? That alone should tell you it's going to be fine on 225. I'm on 225/40's for the 2nd season as well. No problems on my end.

depends on the width of the wheels you want. 17x8.25 should be ok for 215 tires. i personally would not mount them on 17x8.75, but thats just me

Depends om the offset. If you go for 17x8.25 +35 it should give you a very good fitting. Its almost flush, but not overly agressiv. No spacers needed

Gloss Black XXR 530

Finally got my gloss black XXR's on yesterday! Completely transforms the look of this car. Loving them! In less than 24 hours got two random compliments on it.

So I have put a couple miles on the XXR 540 18x8.75's. I have to say it really feels more sluggish than stock wheels and tires. I'm thinking the weight is hurting me here and the larger contact patch is increasing rolling resistance. Anybody else feeling the same?

Have you noticed any diminished handling due to rim weight? I put my 18" 530's on and it doesn't feel near as responsive and somewhat sluggish. Maybe I need to burn through the mold release on the tires?
