Not sure if this applies to all gps units but I rented a car a couple of times from the same car rental place and their gps unit was pretty handy. Just punch in the telephone number of the place you want to go and it will take you there

Helps when you pick up a hyper rev magazine and find all these shops you wanna hit!

Hahaha I think White Toyota 86's will be common in Perth. I'm due for a White GTS in early July.

Springs rates DEFINITELY make a difference to how stiff it is. The heavier/firmer the spring is, the more stiff the ride will be. Obviously an 8kg/mm spring is stiffer than a 6kg/mm spring. So while you can adjust your dampers firmness fairly easily on the fly, you can’t adjust springs without removing the struts. So you need to keep that in mind as well. If you want a fairly compliant ride on the road, don’t go and buy coilOVERS with super stiff springs, because no matter how soft you set the damper, your ride will still be stiff.

With regards to TRD coilovers quality, a good mate of mine had TRD front coilovers in his AE86 and loved them. He also had the 8 way adjustable rear shocks, as did i. I loved them as much as he did. I drove his car a few times and it really did drive well. I am not sure about the current TRD shocks, but the older ones we had weren’t just “rebranded” from another company. They were manufactured by Tokico to TRD specifications. Two different things. I would hope that it is still the same process.

i have been to TAS before and believe me you have to go once in your life.

this one will be a good one too as it's the first year after 86/BRZ are released. this will pretty much be the signature car for the show.

however it's not a good place to buy parts. a lot of the shops will have a small store at their stands but mainly small stuff and merchandise (at discounted price). if you are looking for big parts like kits, sussy and wheels, you will be disappointed.

i bought my ARC titaninum gear knob at TAS at 2/3 of street price....

Hahaha we will get along just fine.... I want to get an ARC gear knob for the 86... So happy ARC are back up and running too, well so ive heard anyway......

In regards to big parts though it should be fine to get, just not on the day.. Hahaha i aint lugging fukn exhaust manifolds and intake systems around on my shoulders LOL!!!. I presume they take orders there though???... I hope most my stuff will be picked up in November but for anyone needing small parts we will be able to grab them for the AUS 86 community..

i doubt there are sales at TAS. mostly marketing and technical rep.

you will also pay less at shops and they can organsie courier to your hotel etc so what you should do at TAS is drool over the cars and girls lol

ps. ARC is back in business but i think i'd stick to the stock gearknob as it seems fine to me. i'll know once i get my car if i want to change. i will have to buy a new one becos my current one wont fit!!
