The side skirts are still ROCK solid, and the spats can be flexed by hand a bit but are also pretty much rock solid as well. See my blog post here.

Here are a few additional pictures that aren't in the post that show how the flaps look.
Oh wow, thanks! I didn't think about the edges poking out at all. I don't think I want to chop the body kit pieces, so I may just have to deal with them poking over.

The pics don't look half bad, but how bad is it hanging over before you chopped them?

It's not bad. Most people probably wouldn't care. I'm just super anal. The issue is that it also causes the flap to twist slightly, and also causes it to curve back towards the wheel a bit, which just looks a bit strange.

I was a bit apprehensive about hacking up the STi kit, but then I remembered that this isn't a Ferrari, and that I'm not trying to sell it as a rare, "perfect condition" Series.Blue in two years, so screw it. It's not an irreversible change, either. The skirts can always be replaced. It looks good, though, and I don't plan on selling the car... ever. So if it loses a bit of value because I cut the ends off of the skirts, I could care less, lol.

Thanks. I'll have to see how it looks after it's installed. If it bothers me, I'll probably return it as opposed to cutting my skirts though lol.

From my understanding, you had to chop because you wanted to mount them without having to remove the spats correct? In theory, If I already have the flaps installed, and want to install the STi body kit on after the flaps, would they be able to go on without modification to the kit? Maybe by drilling an extra whole somewhere?

I believe he is saying he chopped the STI kit off because the flaps themselves sit on top of the skirt/spat, which cover the mounting points. There is no need to chop them off for installation, other than the fact that they will be raised slightly due to the side molding of the kit.

I think if you have the flaps already, you would need to remove them before installing the sti kit, unless you want the flaps to be under the skirt/spats.

EDIT:

Now that I think about it, installing it under the skirts would be a good idea. I could potentially just lift the mounting side and slide the flaps in... I'll have to see if that'd be possible

The issue is that, unlike most aftermarket skirts that I've seen, the STi kit wraps around into the fender, and there are screws/poppers on the end there (see the blog post I linked above for photos of that.) You might need to drill a hole at the very least, but it also depends on the flaps you have. I have gorilla flaps which need no additional bracket hardware. RallyArmor flaps need a bracket installed, and I think the STi kit gets in the way without SOME degree of modification, maybe.

Well, I asked because OP said he was able to install both without modifying the kit, and only had to remove the spats, install the flaps, then re install the spats lol!

It fits with 0 modification. Hypebrz has it correct.

It takes a bit of effort to get all the push screws in properly.

RA flaps have one less hole compared to the STI kit, and if you want that extra screw in, you will have to drill a hole.
That said, I don't think it'll be necessary considering the extra screws from the flaps.

I'm curious if the flaps can in fact just be installed under the side molding like he said. That'll alleviate the issue with the flaps not sitting right

So you're saying the flaps can just sit inside the side molding of the skirt/spats? is that what you did?

Based on your pics it looks like you just have the flaps over the inner molding of the kit.

sweet, that'd be helpful. In for pics too if you can manage. I'm curious to see if that'd look weird since having it covered by the inner molding would be something out of the ordinary... lol!
