Having owned many red cars, I can say that it used to be a problem more so than now. My '85 MR2 had basically faded to pink by the time it reached 180,000miles. Mind you it spent all its time outdoors, and spent half it's life in South Florida.

In contrast, Momhawk's red 2005 Mustang looks just as good as it did the day we bought it new. It spends most of the day outside, but is garaged at night.

Hi!

Thank you very much for your reply!

I clicked your Owner's Journal, I see you purchased a Firestorm FRS. Is the paint still good now? I mean, it's ok you got some scratches. But about the fade, Is it faded now?

I'm very sorry. I sucked at English
Please tell me if you cant understand me and I will try to explain it better.

Thanks again for your reply
and
God Bless!!!!!

Yes, as far as I can tell by eye, it still looks the same as when purchased in terms of color when it is clean. Red never really looks dirty, it just looks "dull" to me.

That said, the paint (all the colors) is relatively thin and subject to paint chipping. Red shows this because the primer is white so they each ding sticks out more than a lighter car. Same would be true with the darker colors I suspect.
