I don't know how much you've read about these units but I'll give you some quick cliffs notes. There are a bunch of similar android radios under different brand names that are essentially the same (Klyde, Joyous, KGL, etc.). You can flash a firmware from any brand and it works with no issues. You can NOT flash an MCU from another brand onto your unit. So if your unit is Joyous, you can only flash JY MCU. My unit is a Klyde so I can only flash KLD MCU. What I'm getting at is be careful when you flash MCU because if you flash one from a different brand, you will brick your unit. But, you can flash firmware from different brands so you can take advantage of different home layouts and widgets etc. I recommend you read through the first page of this thread and visit any links that may interest you. There is a ton of information and various mods people have been done to improve these units. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2660662
Here's a link of MCU files: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...ostcount=14139 I recommend the JY v.2.59 with sleep and redesigned sound processor from darkleo from 19.06.2015 MCU. Here's my Eonon unit, which is manufactured by Klyde. It looks almost identical to your Joyous radio. |

Okay sounds good ill look into that, I started having stability issues so I reverted back to the stock rom for now. I guess ill have to fire up my old xda surfing skills and check out whats out there for these head units. Have been out of this game for awhile since I went from my old Droid Razr to my Oneplus One.

Could someone give a simple explanation on how to remove the pins from the connector? (The whole move the blue wire over thing) I've tried so many different things, small screwdriver, bobby pin, etcc and it just won't come out.
I feel like i may have gotten it stuck in there and I can't find any helpful videos on how to remove them. Also, I'm assuming that any wires within the array or harnesses that are green with a little copper wire exposed at the tip are ground wires? And they all need to be grounded, most likely to the bolts that hold the unit? The RCA adapter cord has like 2 or 3 of these wires.. |

Rico, they are a bit difficult to remove on the included harnesses. I believe I used a pin to push the little tab up..You may need to pull a bit hard to get it to come out. Metra harnesses re-pin the same way but are much easier to remove.
Can you take a picture of the wires your are referring to? |

The connector.
The wires I'm referring too. The two green on the right are from the RCA/3.5mm adapter and the blue on the left is from the radio ant, supplied with the kit. Last edited by ricotheraccoon; 03-04-2016 at 10:57 AM. |

I don't think you should ground the two green ones, they may just be unused.
The blue shouldn't be grounded either. To get your antenna to work, you must connect the antenna booster wire from your car plug to the radios amp turn on wire. I may pull my radio out this weekend and I can check for you |

All I did was move that one pin from pin 8 to pin 9 or whatever that guy said in the earlier posts. I left all those extra wires loose. From my understanding with the exception of the AUX jack there is an entire harness that goes unused in our cars because we do not have steering wheel controls. They just include the whole thing because the bespoke unit is in other scion vehicles that have steering wheel controls.
With just what comes in the box you will get everything to work except for the radio, AUX jack and the USB port next to that AUX jack. You have to spend roughly ~30 bucks to acquire the other harness adapters to get those things to work. Considering they supply you with 2 usb cords that you can just feed into the glove box I really do not see an absolute need to get them unless you just want all the stock ports to work. Even with the radio harness adapter I still get shit reception and just listen to music on spotify, pandora or my 32gb SD card. |

I'd say the latest version number you can find that has what you want. Most dont list what has changed, but some say redesigned sound processor which is what I run.
