If you delete the muffler make sure you add something else, don't just leave it like it is. For example go with the Berk muffler delete. I saw a dude at a car meet with a red FRS had his bumper off because it melted from deleting the muffler and not adding any more piping. So he has a muffler delete and bumper delete lol and the muffler delete by itself doesn't sound aggressive at all, just sounds slightly louder and the engine is most of the noise.

Good advice, don’t want to end up with a blob of plastic on the back (or fumes in the cabin).
I do like the smooth bends in the Dezoid cat back. I wonder if it has much reduction in back pressure and if that causes a mixture change. |

Actually, a muffler delete pipe (of any kind) would contribute to a small decrease in gas mileage at higher speeds.
The factory muffler location acts as an underbody filler. When you remove it, there's a gigantic void where drag can be created. This is why complete rear diffusers improve gas mileage on our cars, because that is probably the most inefficient part of a car that is already pretty good. -alex |

@Dr. BRZ waste of money is relative. 600 bucks for 2-3hp? it is mostly for sound, looks, and weight.
@Jnamrefiel You have the front pipe and midpipe mixed up. He was talking about the midpipe. Please don't bump old posts if you don't have any real information to add. |
