Its kinda hard to drive this thing driving slow and keeping the revs low. The tranny makes clumsy clunky noises when I drive it this way.

Yeah normally i'm a believer of a hard beak in but thought this was a good compromise. I'm going to be taking her easy for the rest of the 1600km. She is sitting at 600km.

Please list whether you are MT or AT

All of the info regarding fuel efficiency is and will be extremely useful going forward. Because there is a significant difference in the fuel efficiency between AT & MT it will be even more useful if we share whether the car is MT or AT both here and at Fuelly. There appear to be 17 FRS signed up at fuelly so far. No BRZ's that I have noticed.

Good stuff!!

The gauge is reading 37 mpg so far on my second tank after 130 miles, mostly highway

I reset the gauge this time so hopefully it is more accurate. The first tank read 30 and ended up being 28 when I filled up, but I'm not sure if the dealer ever reset it when they filled up.

I know MT has this feature (AT probably does too) where if you turn the gear selector display on (that g-ON/g-OFF setting) it will not only show you what gear you are in but also flash a little up arrow next to it a few times when you 'should' shift for optimal MPG. It's very subtle and doesn't distract you but if you're looking for it, it's there.

Where and how did you find this? I've skimmed thru the manual and don't remember seeing this feature but if it is true, I'd really use this feature sincce it'll helps with gas mileage. My friends 2012 VW Golf R has this feature and it's pretty amazing. It tells you what gear you're in and also tells you when its best to shift up/down for better gas mileage. If the FR-S (MT) has that it would be awesome. Very useful.

Also im averaging 27 mpg's. That 70% city 20% Intersate 10% Traffic. I have been getting up to 6000 rpm frequently because I went away on a trip 2 days after i got my FR-S and hadn't driven it in a week. lol

First tank and only 280 miles, country driving but short trips over the first week. I am trying to keep the revs below 4000. Average MPG is 31.

Second tank (didn't pay attention to the mpg of the first one) 29.6mpg kept "mostly" under 4,000 rpm's. The screen in the car was saying 31.2 but the calculated amount was 29.6.

With the car off just get in and press the ODO button. Cycle thru trip A trip B and then you'll see G-off. Hold down the ODO button and it'll switch to G-on. Now when you're in gear (and in motion) it'll show what gear you're in and the little shift arrow will also blink to tell u the optimum time to change gears.

450 Miles logged gradually improving mileage now 34.4 averaged actual.

Finding Sport in the AT funner in city zone will probably suck some fuel, but the time has come!

Should be badged FR-Se (eco) --- ew.

I live in a rural area with a fair amount of freeway driving, as well as some city driving. I've got about 1500 miles so far, and my average mpg just dropped to 34.9, but it was up to 35.4 before driving in Salt Lake City for this week (with the MT).

The best way to get your fuel consumption measurement is to do it on the basis of full top up volume and odometer mileage since the last top up. Unless you have reset the avg fuel economy I would wonder whether the dash meter is actually giving you an accurate average.

Just a suggestion.
