Yeah for real. Unless the damn thing is stalling so much that I can't drive it, I'm not worrying about it (I haven't had a stall yet).

Toyota Camry as a car rental, they honestly don't care about the car payment though, according to them it is a "warranty" issue although I only had the car for about 1 hour before it was back at the dealership. I am trying to figure out what my options are but it seems like there are none other to wait the month out and see how things go.

You're assuming as much as other member assuming this idle problem is bad gas.

In time, this problem will be solved. Maybe bad gas, maybe wrong ECU map, maybe gas cap, we don't know. Currently, we're just figuring out what can causes this idle problem.

Well that's a good news... well, it's not a "GOOD" news, but at least we figured out this problem.

Whiteout, thanks for the update.
Im happy if they find the problem since i also want to pre order the frs.

Not fully true. Whiteout was the worse scenario out off all the members that had idle problem.

If any member that didn't have any idle problem, I'm pretty sure it won't be any problem down the road... but I'm no a Toyota or SCION rep or anything, so don't quote me on this. I'm just waiting for update email from SCION guys

This is very true. I suggest if you guys are having this issue, to at least call the number I posted on the first page, and report the problem. It may help the other cars before they all get shipped out. I called today, but still plan on taking it in this weekend. The more who call, the higher demand for the parts to repair it, and the sooner we get our cars back. Just my .02

Has anyone other than whiteout had both the CEL and the idle issues?

We already had our first recall with the manual.

One important thing for everyone to note is that whiteout is an isolated incident, and there is no reason for panic. Just because your idle is rougher than you are accustomed to, it doesn't mean you have the same issue, or any issue at all. These engines are known to be rough and noisy.

However if your vehicle stalls, our you get a check engine light immediately contact your dealer.

For example, I've noted 4 missfires after near stalls, but I'm not taking my car in citing vvt our cam valves. Too many people crying wolf can do more harm than good.

That's not fully true on "rough" part. Current boxer engine is pretty smooth... & we're talking bout stock boxer engine, they're pretty smooth than some of inline engines.

BUT I do agree w other stuff. Don't need to freak out if you never had idle issue or never stalled on you.

Yeah, I hope that people don't start panicking yet. Hell, this cam issue could be limited to a small run of 5-10 cars while some assembly worker was dozing or something even more asinine...
