Any mid-lifers (40 YOA+) buying the FR-S/BRZ?!!
I fall into that category and prior to the release of these 2 gems I had essentially planned on picking up a used BMW 1-series. Having seen these cars in person and taken one for a ride I've begun to change my mind.
My better half thinks the twins look too boy racer and are for a younger segment of the population!:-) Not that her thoughts will drive the decision as it'll be my car to drive. I am curious if others out there have experienced similar comments....?! |

Old guy present, though I didn't qualify for your thread when I first started wanting this car.
I haven't had any remarks thrown at me about the youthfulness of the car. Maybe it's just the people I surround myself with, or they're just happy that it's less boy racer than my other Subaru. |

I'm not quite there yet (37), but I do joke that it's my "midlife crisis" car.

While I don't fall into the category, a few friends have called it my "quarter-life crisis car." All my family and friends think that while it slightly is a "younger person's car", it's more mature of a car than the sport compacts.

34 Here.. and yeah, that's everyone's first thought... "what - you having a mid-life crisis?!"
I have a wife, two sons, a professional career, house... and the all the associated responsibilities. Nothing wrong with having an outlet

I just scoff at the "midlife crisis" thing, although I do thank anyone that mentions it for believing I'll live to be 106!
My explanation is that this is the "return to whatever the heck I want to drive life improvement project". BK (before kids) I drove little red sports cars (MR2, others). Now that they are older they can either drive themselves or walk 'cause Dadhawk's gonna drive what Dadhawk's gonna drive! |

Living next to Mission Raceway Park isn't too bad either. Time for some track days but FYI.. that track generates a lot of brake heat!

63 until November. The last 12 years have been driving an Impreza RS 2.5 and loving all 174000 miles. I think I fit perfectly in my new FR-S at 6’, 285 lb. My wife and daughter think it is a great looking car and my friends just ask me to keep it on the road.
