Reliability is going to be all in the tune and turbo choice.

I'd gladly throw a CX Racing sticker under the hood. Their parts have exceeded my expectations, other than the China Express turbo they include with the kits.

How is it exactly that the one and only CX Racing kit documented on this forum blew up almost immediately? Upon investigation, I could see a number of issues that weren't and or were the fault of CX. Either way I'd be concerned buying a component so potentially capable of destroying an engine from them unless I knew absolutely everything about the product.

My CX oil cooler leaked all over the place until I used a roll of Teflon tape. There were parts missing on the initial shipment as well.

The turbo itself is crucial. It spins at huge RPMs, so I'd trust Garrett, Mitsubishi and a few others, none being generic.

CX mass produces parts in-house at their California location. They have part numbers which are universal between multiple "kits" they offer. When they sell a "kit", they throw all the matching part numbers in a box and ship it out. They do sometimes miss parts, and will ship these out to you free of charge if they miss anything. Not an ideal customer experience but is worth the hassle considering the sub-$2000 price point for an entire kit, with buying only parts of the kit and not opting for their turbo being significantly cheaper. The cost is minimized by them not giving a fuck what people think, because they fill a parts market that no one else really does so they will always have customers.

As for the turbo, its shit and its definitely what you'd expect out of a no-name turbo. Mine blew the oil seals within a week even after being properly primed. Everything else is acceptable quality and we've fixed all of the "defects" in my kit.

Between this thread and the $1000 coilover thread, I think we have some strong evidence that winter needs to end. We, myself included, are much too bored and are responding to these threads.

Remember the ability to make a good, consistent tune is also important e.g. MAF location.

You choose to sell kits that has sanded over Greddy logos.

So you don't get to make that call and don't play the victim here.
