Forza and Google maps needs to get together. I want to be able to drive on any street in the country and potentially any street in the world.

Will not be purchasing this game.

As for any of the hardcore "simulator" people, Turn10 has long had a policy of re-design to appeal less to the Forza enthusiast and more toward the non-motorsport enthusiast (aka: Going after the Halo crowd).

Do you own any Forza games?

Anyone else find it disturbing that no gameplay footage has been shown and it's suppose to release in the fall of this year? This seems like the cash-out on Turn 10's part. And, they've been careful and put in a scape goat (playground) to take the blame for when it doesn't appeal to the real enthusiasts. The vibe that I get from this is a need for speed clone. We'll see though. You'll know it's a fail if they don't put a demo on XBL so you can try it before you buy it.

I'll be reading reviews before even thinking of buying it, but I hope they retain forza handling... I love to carve mountains like fujimi kaido in F4 so I hope this will be an expansion of that.

trailer:

Looks exciting if they nail the handling! Night racing and rally, finally!

gamplay:
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAMvrrDP6Mc&feature=related"]Forza Horizon - E3 2012 Gameplay with Dan Greenewalt - YouTube[/ame]

I see TCS/ABS/STS flashing lol... good sign the handling is still there.

Ahh. Yep. Those 2 videos confirmed my suspicion. Need for Speed with Forza rendering engine and possibly some of the physics. I'm sure it will have its audience, but I'll likely pass on it.

New game. I would rather have a bit more simulation from Forza. I did love Underground 2 though.

Me too. I'm sure this game will rekindle those memories... though I don't think we will be able to customize in Horizon.

Did you know NFS Most Wanted is being re-made? lol

The part about underground 2 I liked wasn't the visual mods BTW. The performance tuning was good for an arcade game. Not as much as Forza or even close to Live for Speed but you could tune the torque curve and even fine tune the gearing. I later went back and downloaded some of the custom car bodies people did and found a program to modify cars. I even switched some of the FWD cars to RWD. But it was still pretty crude modding.

Considering I was much younger and playing on a keyboard it wasn't too bad. I didn't like Most Wanted at all but Carbon Canyon was fun though the story was annoying.

That's funny, Most Wanted was hands down my favorite... something awesome about driving a supra in that game, very visceral and enjoyable handling. I have fond memories hiding from the cops in some remote alley lol.

A lot of people liked Most Wanted, I didn't.

Criterion's new NFS will be wonderful, and I will own it. But that's just because I love Criterion's style.

I haven't heard anything about police chases while you're roaming the roads of Colorado in Forza Horizon. Just street races and lots of events at the festival. I also recall reading that customization will be a big part as well. Pirelli tire physics and Forza driving physics are in the game as well. It's just not being made exclusively by Turn 10. Playground Games has their hands on this one, which I'm not wary of at all, considering they're made up of ex-employees from Bizzare (PGR) and Codemasters (F1, Dirt, Grid, etc.)
