Because the Slingshot is strictly a fair weather vehicle with little passenger comfort (fixed seat position and short), not to mention the mpg. The Slingshot is very uncomfortable, from a passenger perspective, and noisy.

![]() The Elio is 54" tall which is like a normal sedan, I wonder how hard it would be to chop the top and drop it a bit...recumbent 3 wheel motorcycle that's harder to kill yourself in? I bet the engine can be upgraded to rev a bit more, like a motorcycle.

Cutting the top off however.... Willing to bet it's a major part of the structure. I would love to bore my elio out and raise the redline to 10k! HA |

You would think that with the millions of dollars they've received for pre orders over the last 7 years they would be pumping out cars by now. I know I would buy one after a year or two of them being out for reliability reasons. Like many people I have a long commute that is usually/always by myself. My motorcycle is nice but impractical when the temps are at either extreme.

Classified as a motorcycle means you have to wear a helmet. Who wants to wear a helmet in a fully enclosed vehicle? Eliminates the desire to own one for me.
