Because the Slingshot is strictly a fair weather vehicle with little passenger comfort (fixed seat position and short), not to mention the mpg. The Slingshot is very uncomfortable, from a passenger perspective, and noisy.

I was losing my s*** in my car and when I got out I went to inspect the damage. Their door hit my rear window which was undamaged while their door had a little warp in it where it made contact.
Something similar happened to me today. I was sitting in my car, this obese person walks to his minivan, opens the door, and while getting in his giant ass knocked the door into my mirror, and I felt the car shake. His door had a patch of paint from my mirror on it, and he just drove away like nothing happened while I was looking at him...

The Elio is 54" tall which is like a normal sedan, I wonder how hard it would be to chop the top and drop it a bit...recumbent 3 wheel motorcycle that's harder to kill yourself in? I bet the engine can be upgraded to rev a bit more, like a motorcycle.

On the website it's says it comes on coilovers and the height is fully adjustable. Which makes sense. It's probably cheaper to buy coils than the develope a completely new suspension ground up. Bet you it's on Racelands! Lol! Not track quality but they would be more than sufficient.

Cutting the top off however.... Willing to bet it's a major part of the structure. I would love to bore my elio out and raise the redline to 10k! HA

You can't drop a car 4 inches...the bottom would be scraping every pebble.

By chop I mean cut the pillars and reattach the roof at a lower point.

You would think that with the millions of dollars they've received for pre orders over the last 7 years they would be pumping out cars by now. I know I would buy one after a year or two of them being out for reliability reasons. Like many people I have a long commute that is usually/always by myself. My motorcycle is nice but impractical when the temps are at either extreme.

Classified as a motorcycle means you have to wear a helmet. Who wants to wear a helmet in a fully enclosed vehicle? Eliminates the desire to own one for me.

Helmet laws are state-based, some don't require them at all, and even the ones that do require helmets worn on 2-wheeled motorcycles do not always require them on 3-wheeled vehicles. In our state and the adjoining, if the 3-wheeled vehicle has bucket seats and a steering wheel, like the Polaris Slingshot, Campagna T-Rex, and this thing, you do not have to wear a helmet. If you ride straddle of a seat and operate it via handlebars, like the Can-Am Spyder, then you do.
