Powder Coating equivalent to Enkei's SBC?

I've got the RPF1s in silver, but have always wanted the SBC color instead (had to settle for the silver cause I couldn't find them in SBC anywhere).

So now I'm wondering if there might be an equivalent color or process to SBC with powder coating? I'd rather PC my wheels vs. finding and buying in SBC and then having to sell my silvers.

Anyone knows of or has any experience with a PC option that's equivalent to SBC (Super Brilliant Chrome)?

thanks.

These are the closest I could find to SBC in Powder. They look pretty good. Don't know anything about durability of finish or the process...

Since you're in NY you should have many good installers in your state.

I'm not positive but I don't think powder coat can make that glossy finish, nor can it do chrome. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. They mention paint in that thread, maybe someone was mistaken?

it most likely can, although I have a feeling it would involve multiple coats. sandblast, charge, primer, chrome, gloss.

Here's a shit job that could clearly be improved upon. Still don't know how close to SBC it can get, but I think it's do-able.

Wasn't OPs goal to look like dark chrome though? I don't think powder coat can achieve the shiny finish of a chrome or similar plating

Thanks for the replies guys.

So here's my situation; My FR-S is kind of a at an in-between setup. I've got smoked dark tail-lights, and dark side signals, but with the bright silver RPF1s.

I *should* either swap the tails/signals for lighter versions, or go dark with the wheels so I've got a consistent overall look and setup.

I reeeeeeeally like the menacing/mean look it has with the dark tails, and hence wanting to the darken the wheels to give it the overall look.

So I want to go darker and also glossy and SBC seems like the perfect setup and I was hoping to go the Powder Coat route instead of buying the SBC and swapping and selling the silvers.

I guess the next thing to look at is gunmetal.

Paint them? Or find a place that can plate them? I suspect you'll be getting new wheels if you really want that look though. Just not a lot of options
