Hit & Run

Here's update on what happened to me this week.

Tuesday, while driving to work, stupid truck didn't even look to see my RED Impreza and hit my rear fender! He slow down and putting right signal to pull over, so I follow him from behind turning my signals... but all suddenly he speed up and try to ran away from me. When that happened, it came to me "Wait, wait, wait, this dbag is freaking hit me and now trying to run away?!?!" After 20mins of chasing this dbag while calling 911 I smell some burn rubber, so I had no choice but to stop chasing after him. Left me with bend, & ripped rear fender and massive pain on my neck.

Here's the pic where it got hit

and here's the pic of that truck

I know it's not a great pic. I took it w my phone. Bad news is front and rear plate # were totally different. Make it more worse, both of em weren't actual plate for that truck (so cop told me). Good news is, from those 2 fake plate #s, they figured out who he is. From police info, that dbag's truck's registeration was expire and from running away, he don't have any insurance. I have already got police for incidence report & my insurance company. Unified P.D told me that he's going to go his place and cite him and get more information.

Now, I have messed up neck & lower hip. My chiropractor told me that, gonna take give or take of 3 months to fully fix my back.

just FML, FML...

out of all messed up things happened, one good news is, the shop I've put my car to fix is good friend's uncle's shop. My friend ask him to widen my rear fender lil bit, so my rear tires won't rub every time I go through dop/bump.

Seems like I hear a lot more of these horrible stories now-a-days than before. Maybe because of the recession? Maybe more people driving illegally on the roads because they don't want to spend the money for insurance/registration?

Edit: Still doesn't give them the right to run away after hitting another driver though!

Damn Ichi, that sucks!! What sucks is that your insurance is probably going be the one who fixes your car. 2 different license plates too!?! You would think that would be a serious violation but I bet he'll just get a slap on the wrist!

Similar situation happened to me where this mexican chick (didn't speak english, didn't have a driver's license, was driving her bf's car ran a red and hit my front right bumper. The SDPD didn't even cite her at and just gave me her information (she lived in Tijuana, Mex) and her bf's info since it was registered to him.

Since he only had liability, it covered her as a driver. The police said that even though I had the green light, the point of impact (my right bumper hit her rear left quarter panel) indicates that I hit her so it was essential "my fault".

Sorry to hear that Ichi. Those idiots should be jailed, but put him jail and feed him is a waste. H&R case used to happen to me too. There was a muscle car hit my car, which was parked on the side of the road, and was trying to run away. He went nowhere further than 200ft, then the car stalled. I hate so much.

Holly S***!!! Are you serious! That's totally BS! I would be totally raged up at the police. So in the end, what happened?

Yeah, I wanted to hit this SOB so badly w my car... but compact sports car vs Truck isn't looking at winning, so instead I just followed him hoping police would come on time to bust his a**... but sadly didn't

Yeah man, I was heated!! The cop told me the same theory holds true if you rearend somebody. Even if that person intentially slammed on their brakes you would be found 98.99% "at fault".

I tried to pitch the fact that, her not having a valid CA Driver's License, she shouldn't even be on the road but they didn't seem like it was an issue. At least give her a citation... nothing!

Based on both statements from both parties, my insurance found me not at fault while his insurance found me at fault and left it at that. My carrier, Wawanesa wrote me a check for the initial damage and when I bring to the shop if there is more damage, they'll cover the extra damage.

The last I heard was that since he only had liablity they are currently trying to go through my insurance to cover their damages.

Lol so driving thru a red doesn't count for nothing.. Bs
Here in oz if you get rear ended, whatever the circumstances ur not at fault. BUT if ur drunk or high, you won't be covered, then the other persons insurance chases you and your insurances scratches their nuts lol
But thats from a insurance point of view. Police will book you if they can and to the max they can
And Ichi that's total bs as well..
