If that steering wheel harness is equivalent to Axxess AX-TOY28SWC then yes it is usable.

Lol no shit. They can be different since they are not the same brand, that was my point.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who bought one of these and uses the custom Rom for it. However I got a 7" universal one and it doesn't quite sit flush or fill in the cut out of the trim piece.

Haha I know sorry dude, I didn't mean to sound like a d*ck. But obviously those are the brand names. It was just a word of caution because a manufacturer could make it differently then another. For some reason I remember someone saying to get Axxess over Metra but I could be wrong, this was over a year ago now.

I don't know, I'm no extreme audio enthusiast but I figured it can't hurt to make it possibly better.

This page has many MCU's for all different units in this family. I don't know how much you've read up on these units, but if you flash the incorrect MCU type, it will brick your unit. So make sure you select the correct one.

I'm assuming your Joying units use JY? I would verify in system info.

The only one with any description is the second one listed, which fortunately has the redesigned sound processor.

My unit is a Klyde and I am using one with a similar description:

KLD v.2.64 with sleep and redesigned sound processor from darkleo
This page has tons of good links/info here as well. I highly recommend reading through it before you begin modding. This page does explain the deal with MCU flashing.

Just updated my unit to JY v.2.59 w/darkleo sound processor upgrades from 19.06.2015

Going to reinstall in car later and check the sound quality vs stock MCU

VERY simple to update MCU

Thanks for the info. I've researched and know about updating mcu but just never caught any mention of an mcu update that improved the sound processor. Thanks again!

I did Joying customer service and they had stated that they were in the testing phase of their new model with 2gb ram upgraded and running android 5.0 But they did not give me any further details.

You don't need to buy only a joying unit. There are many units under different brand names that under the hood are almost identical. For example, take a look at eonon.com which is where I got mine.

I did but they all seem to be the same specs with different outer cases. So I guess we ll need to wait for new internals from the parent company.
