It displays them by folder. What I have is each album in its own folder. And random songs in a tracks folder. Like I said, there is probably an android music player that does something like the iPod does if that's what u want.

Okay I just got my Joying Toyota Universal Head Unit (JY-TQ123)

Packing was great, this box was actually wrapped in USPS boxing paper of some sort so the package itself arrived undamaged.

Instructions basically showing you how kitkat works...pretty useless. However there are a few things of note regarding the custom launcher that comes loaded and how to set up things like the home screen weather

The unit itself came packaged in a solid box and was foamed in tight. Also there are placement screws holding the cd/dvd bracket in place to avoid damage from shipping.

Universal Toyota harness they send with the unit. I have yet to install on the fr-s however a friend of mine bought this exact unit for his Toyota FJ Cruiser and no modifcations to the harness were needed for all functionally. I will let you guys know if they have updated the harness or not.

Screws they want you to use for installing the stock brackets from your brz/frs

IR remote for the head unit...pretty useless considering our cabin is so small that everyone sitting inside should be able to reach the head unit controls

8gb USB (2.0 I am assuming) I guess they throw this in so you can upload some music or a movie to watch on the unit. The 8gb sd card that comes preinstalled has the oem maps for the prepackaged software.

External Microphone...pretty useless again. My friend and I test the onboard mic built into the head unit on his FJ and the quality was better than the bespoke headunit in my fr-s. He was also sitting further away from the mic than we would be in our cars.

GPS Antenna, solid antenna and it is also magnetic. Like others have posted you can just stick it to the back of the head unit during the install and it works great.

The head unit comes with a screen protector pre installed however like others have said you may want to pick up an anti glare protector. Solid buttons and product for 300 bucks.

As you can see by the writing on the back of the unit, they actually inspect these before they go to shipping. Mine was inspected 3 days ago for quality control. Awesome!

And finally the wiring diagram. Really excited to get this installed and start customizing it.

I figure it was a piece of crap, but then again I didn't buy the head unit for the flash drive lol.

I have tons of sd cards and plan on using one of my 32gb ones for music and movies.

Mine works perfectly. Flashed malaysk custom rom and it works even better.

I haven't installed the bluetooth microphone yet. Do I need to open the unit and do the hardware mod on the later model Joying units?

I'm using malaysk rom was well with an updated mcu that was supposed to improve audio quality.

As far as I know you need to do an internal mod. I would check on xda forum to be sure.

Do you have a link for the updated MCU? The audio quality has started bothering me a bit as well. Did you notice any improvements?

Headunit has been installed in my fr-s the harness that came with it did need the blue 9 pin switched to the 8 pin. Also the bracket holes needed to be drilled out to a larger diameter for the head unit to sit flush with the bezel.

You will need to purchase the harness adapters listed in this thread in order for the am/fm radio receiver to work as well as the harness for the stock usb and aux port to work.

The third harness adapter I am not sure you need considering we do not have any steering wheel controls. However for some reason it was installed in my bespoke head unit. Only thing I can think of is that these are all universal head units and other scion vehicles have steering wheel controls.

These are the wiring harnesses you need. Basically the steering wheel control harness is useless for us since we do not have any but I picked it up anyway to get free shipping on crutchfields website xD

IIRC, the backup cam wire and aux input comes from that harness. Not 100% on that though.

If that is correct then it is indeed not useless. Basically just buy all 3 from crutchfield since you get free shipping for +35 dollar orders and that pretty much makes one of the harnesses free anyway.
