I have gone through months of google searches and reading about this specific topic for my own wheel shopping. Here's how it goes, you get to pick two of three: Cost, weight, strength. Rota's are pretty strong and quite cheap, but they are anchors that attach to your hub. Figure out what you want. As a DD I think Reps will do just fine. But for motorsport you want to pay a lot more money for a wheel not just because of stories of wheels breaking but because wheels are un-sprung mass so you want to go as light as possible. As mentioned before Enkei is in a really sweet spot of cost because they actually have a pretty good weight and a solid track record for strength. But I am by no means an expert and this is just my opinion.

I don't disagree, they are fine. Especially since the US has no wheel standards of any sort and you never hear about people breaking their wheels driving along in the streets. Also, this car is really light, there's a lot less stress on the wheels and reps will hold up even better for it. Some just have higher levels of paranoia than others. Also, to me cheap wheels are cheap wheels, doesn't matter if they are reps or not, what I am saying applies to them all. Just saying if you pay more you can reduce the weight while maintaining the strength. |

Some say X brand is trash, another may say Y brand. There is, however, a general consensus that more $ = better quality.
However! Ambit, Rota, XXR, etc. exist and have presence because people buy their products and ride on their products. I hear a lot less horror stories than I see photos of people proudly rocking their products. For some, the price (and sometimes weight) is worth the perceived risk of having wheel failure. For others, they would never, under any circumstance buy a "cheap wheel". Make as much of an informed decision as you can (evident by creating this thread in the first place), and rock the hell out of whatever you decide.

They're fairly new and actually getting pretty popular. I'm surprised you haven't seen pictures of them as some people have sold their Cosmis on here and many people running widebody run Cosmis. It might be a bit unpopular for our bolt-pattern due to their wheel specs being pretty low offset. Their wheels are even featured in the new Need For Speed game.
