To remove, or not to remove. Plastic protection strip on bottom corner of door sill
My fr-s came with this from the factory it seems. It doesn't seem to remove cleanly; it's really on there quite strong. Anyone remove theirs? I would leave it on but it's starting to yellow.

I believe that is supposed to remain on the car.

I would not remove it. It believe it is supposed to to be there. Those clear pads are designed to protect the area where they are applied. From time to time there appear to be bodywork areas that are susceptable to abrasion from environmental factors. I have seen them on Sienna vans as well as other vehicles. I have never seen one yellow. In fact whatever that material is would be great for clear front masking as it seems very resilient.

Leave it on. Rub it with White Vinegar to reverse yellowing.

Mine is clearly visible from miles away because I cant the wax/sealant residue from underneath the edges. It really is quite annoying, I wish I could remove it.

That section of the body probably protrudes a bit past the front bumper when looking at the car frontally. So that edge is prone to getting knicked by rocks/debris. The G35 was worse - its rear fenders flared out like a widebody so the front sections of the rear fenders had a large patch of clear vinyl from the OEM.

I have removed them by heating them up a little with a hair dryer and removing the glue residue with Goo Gone.
I'll let you know if the car starts falling apart because they're missing.

Toyota put these plastic protectors on the door sills to protect the paint from people entering the rear seats so their shoes doesn't scratch the paint and for no other reason.
I removed them from my whiteout and will be removing them from my 10 Series soon as no one rides in my back seats. All that is needed to remove them is a little time and patience. They will pull off without a heat gun and you just need to use some cleaner wax to remove the residue.
