If you are talking about an automobile with an automatic transmission, when you get out of your flatlands and get up into the mountains, it's possible to be on a steep enough slope that when you put the transmission in "park" and let off the brake, the pressure will not allow the transmission "pawl" to let go, so as you can move it out of "park".

Then you might have to find 6 men or a tow vehicle to get ya going.

And, NO, I don't wanna talk about how I know that ......

Haven't always been in the flatlands and still never had an issue. Just lucky I guess.

Odd, this isn't new although it may not have been a recall. Exact same discussion about the plug not being plugged in when the cars were first being delivered in 2012. I guess they didn't fix their process. (Sorry, no time to search, but it is on here somewhere)

Back on topic - when i first saw the title i half expected it to be a joke about recalling all the fr-s's to swap out the scion badges with toyota ones.

Here is one thread from the wayback machine covering this. Not sure there was ever an official Toyota/Scion notice on it or if it just was "one of those things" we talked about here.

Anyway, easy enough to check. Start your car, but it in Drive, see if you can pull the key out.

Please provide a written DIY with pictures!
Does this happen to my MT car as well?
This would never have been an issue except for Scion!
I took mine to the dealer and he said it is OK and didn't do anything the lying snake.
Will this void my warranty?

Here I was thinking that the recall was related to swapping the Scion badges for Subaru BRZ..

No, but to double check, insert key, start car, then take a hammer and beat on it to see if it comes out. If it breaks first, you are good. Then drive to dealer.

Correct. Take hammer from manual test above and apply to dealers forehead.
