drove a huracan and gt3

Spent thanksgiving in vegas with some friends and rented both of these cars on track. Now keep in mind.. i have never in my life driven on a track before aside from 20mph go karts.

Originally I wanted to drive the gt3 and 458.. as they are both cars i could reasonably get within a year or two after selling the GTR. Sadly the 458 was having clutch issues so they upgraded me to the huracan with extra laps.

The GT3 was good. Again, first time on this track and first time driving a car with the engine behind me. I'd read enough horror stories to know not to push it. Honestly you don't notice the rear bias, the car just grips and grips everywhere. Turn in was probably the highlight, the nose just darts in without question. brakes were good, and it was very stable under breaking. Its not brutally fast... but its definitely not slow. The sound from 8k-9k is just pure awesome. sounds better than everything short of a ferrari v8 in my opinion.

overall I feel that i need more time to get to know this car. all the performance isn't readily available to a novice like me.

next up was the huracan. on paper it should be on par with my e85 GTR but it definitely felt faster than that. probably because of the engine wailing behind my head combined with instant NA power and lower weight.

it was very easy to explore the limits in it as you can just lean on the awd to pull you through. it tended to understeer more (you can see in the first turn) as well.

but make no mistake it would leave the gt3 in the dust. its just on a whole different level. tons of grip, insane brakes (gt3 only had the steel, this had the ceramics). sorry the go pro feed got corrupted and lost the last few laps.

Nice car choices - looks like fun!

If I ever track a GT3, I have a feeling it's going to ruin all other cars for me, including my FR-S lol.

Tuner supercharges Lamborghini Huracan to 805 hp

Tuner supercharges Lamborghini Huracan to 805 hp

O.CT TUNING is introducing a supercharger package tailored to the Lamborghini Huracan that has also gone through a series of other modifications.

It seems more and more tuners are slapping on superchargers on the Huracan after Novitec upgraded the baby Lamborghini to 848 horsepower (632 kilowatts). O.CT TUNING has now taken the Huracan up to the 800-hp club. The exact output of the supercharged 5.2-liter V10 engine stands at 805 hp (600 kW) and a monstrous peak torque of 598 pound-feet (810 newton meters).

The heavily modified engine works with a custom exhaust system that is 44 pounds (20 kilograms) lighter than the stock one and provides a more powerful soundtrack to match the added oomph. The package is completed by a new set of wheels measuring 20 inches on the front axle and 21 inches at the back.

After adding the supercharger, the Lamborghini Huracan by O.CT TUNING will run the sprint to 62 miles (100 kilometers) per hour in only 2.5 seconds whereas the standard version needs 3.2 seconds. The 0-120 mph (0-200 kph) task is accomplished in just 8.3 seconds, thus making it 0.6 seconds quicker compared to the stock model. The tuner doesn’t provide exact details about the top speed, but it says it’s “somewhere beyond” 200 mph (325 kph) which actually is the same as Lamborghini’s official figure.

Unsurprisingly, O.CT TUNING mentions the supercharger kit is also compatible with the Audi R8 which as you know shares many of its bits and pieces with the Huracan.

Underground Racing Shows Off Twin-Turbo Huracan Upgrades In New Clip

Quote:
Delivering 602 hp thanks to a potent 5,2L V10 engine, the Lamborghini Huracan is quick. So quick in fact that it can out accelerate the mighty Porsche 918 Spyder. But for some, even that isn't enough.

In its never ending pursuit to create the world's fastest street cars, Underground Racing offers a number of twin-turbo packages for Lamborghini's baby supercar priced from $49,000 installed and with a 2 year warranty.

UR's base Huracan upgrade lifts power to 800 hp at the wheels while the $59,000 Stage 1 package adds the versatility of running on race fuel which increases power to 900 whp. The Stage 2 package is then offered that delivers 850 whp on 93 octane petrol and 1000 whp on race fuel, priced from $69,000.

And if that's not enough, the Stage 3 pack kicks out an insane 1,250 whp on race fuel while the Race-spec twin-turbo kit lifts that figure to the 1500 whp marque. Completing the available upgrades is the X Version twin-turbo system that comes complete with a custom sequential transmission and over 2,200 whp. It's so expensive and exclusive that pricing isn't available publicly.

It's a beautiful piece of machinery, I'm not knocking it, but for $180k you could probably get vectoring thrust for your BRZ/FRS... just sayin'

Supercharged 860 PS Novitec Torado N-Largo Breaks Cover [w/Video]

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYw9S6vU4gw[/ame]

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3z_D-rKn_4[/ame]

Quote:
With a carbon fiber wide-body kit, forged alloys and an 860 PS supercharged V10 engine, this Lamborghini Huracan, limited to just 25 cars, is sure to attract some attention.

The N-Largo wide-body kit makes this Huracan about 12 cm (4.7 in) wider than the production car, though you'll probably notice the flared rear fenders first, bonded seamlessly to the car, giving you the impression that it was "born this way", to quote a certain someone's hit pop single.

The wheel wells are 6 cm wider (2.3 in) and host the NL2 custom wheels, featuring a five double-spoke design and measuring 20" at the front and 21" at the rear.

Novitec also emphasizes that the N-Largo rocker panels create a "perfect transition between the wider fenders" and also come with integrated brake cooling ducts that keep things cool for the rear discs and calipers. In order to figure out all the aero, extensive testing was done in a wind tunnel, where the main focus was on the new front and rear bumpers, as well as the rear airfoil.

Other noticeable carbon fiber components are of course the hood and the side air intakes, though the side mirror covers and tail lamp surrounds are also made from the same high-tech material.

Inside, customers will be able to customize the cockpit to their exact preferences - with a selection of the finest leathers and Alcantara, in any desired color.

The German tuner installed sports springs that can lower the ride height of the Torado N-Largo by about 35 mm (1.3 in). Drivers who desire even sportier damper settings will be able to purchase the height-adjustable coil-over suspension in the near future.

In terms of power, Novitec is working on a supercharged version of the Huracan's 5.2-liter V10 engine. The max output will be about 860 PS (633 kW) while peak torque will sit in the 960 Nm (708 lb-ft) range - which probably means hypercar-like acceleration and top speed figures, though nothing official yet.

Last but not least, we have the high-performance exhaust system, available in two lightweight versions made out of a material (Inconel) also used in Formula 1. Drivers will be able to do a little sound management of their own with the help of the controlled butterfly vales, which is great considering how amazing this V10 engine sounds even when stock.

The Novitec Torado N-Largo can be ordered either as a complete car or can be built based on an existing Huracan Coupe.

Lamborghini’s RWD Huracan Is Predictably More Fun, But Does It Live Up To Its Promise

Quote:
Lamborghini’s new entry-level model ditched the all-wheel drive system to become a simpler, more fun version of the Huracan. At least that's the official line.

On paper the cheaper Lamborghini you can get offers all the ingredients to get your hair on the back of your neck stand up: a naturally aspirated, screaming V10 in the middle which tortures only the rear axle via a seven-speed double clutch gearbox. Sounds like perfection to us.

No one really cares that the new Huracan LP580-2 has lost 30PS compared to the AWD model, as the idea of a rear-wheel driven Lamborghini is tantalizing.

Evo magazine has driven the new Lamborghini Huracan LP580-2 on track to find out just how much more exciting it is compared to its LP610-4 brother and if the Italian maker has finally built the pure supercar fans and customers alike have been clamoring for.

New Lamborghini Huracan Avio Pays Tribute To Italian Air Force [w/Video]

Quote:
Along with the Centenario LP770-4, Lamborghini also brought an aviation-themed limited edition supercar to Geneva in the form of the Huracan Avio.

Even though Lamborghini haven't had enough time (yet) to produce a silly amount of special edition current-gen cars, they're slowly getting there as this Huracan Avio is set to join the ranks of the Aventador LP 700-4 Pirelli Edition, Veneno Roadster and the Centenario LP 770-4 itself as cars you seriously need to hurry up and purchase.

According to Hdmotori, the Italian automaker is building only 250 units of the Huracan Avio and is dedicating it to the air force - which is reflected by its Military Matte Blue exterior and having the "il Tricolore" in the form of badges and logos.

Though it's yet to be confirmed, as Lamborghini are being surprisingly mum about this car, we're likely looking at the regular LP 610-4 version underneath the special colorway, since the car's front spoiler doesn't match with the one found on the newer LP 580-2.

This means that once it takes off towards the horizon, it will pass the 100 km/h (62 mph) mark in 3.2 seconds, the 200 km/h (124 mph) mark in 9.9 seconds and will ultimately hit a top speed of 325 km/h (202 mph).

Lamborghini Huracán LP580-2 - Canyon Drive & Review

I had the opportunity to drive my first Lamborghini this past weekend in Monterey. What a car! You don't see many rear wheel drive, naturally aspirated supercars (or even sports cars) being produced anymore, so the Huracán LP580-2 is something really special. Watch the full video for my driving impressions. Exhaust cam included.

And for what it's worth, if you own a forced induction BRZ/FRS rest assured your car is still just as fun to drive as the Lambo. Obviously the Lambo feels/sounds exotic and pulls harder, but as a pure driving experience, a properly set up Twin still holds its own against the $$$ supercars IMO.
