Wheels 16x6.5 steelies from tire rack
205/55R16 Continental WinterContact SI When I saw this tire on tire rack I was really excited to see there were no reviews. I am a big fan of continental tires and run their products on pretty much everything I own. I have driven with these on my FRS for the last 2 months in Utah. It has been through 5" of standing snow on the street, ice, slush, ect. They inspire extreme confidence. I could take my FRS in deep snow and the only issue I had was dragging my bumper through the snow. I would highly recommend these tires. |

I'm currently at Town Fair having my Blizzacks put on my car. From all the reviews and forum input they seem like the best snow tires for our cars. I'll definitely write an update when I've driven a good amount on them. I live in Massachusetts, and we've had a very mild winter, however we're predicted to get a good amount of snow between now and Spring.
I paid $688 for four with installation, balance and two wheel alignment with a military discount. They're $720 without the discount. I'll be running on the stock wheels, FYI. |

Everybody has his own set of preferences, likes/dislikes, requirements/expectations, driving specifics. Not much sense on trying to poll it this way. As for me - i don't care much bout specific model/vendor .. just googling each year for winter tire tests/roundups and picking some that performed top in these roundups/tests. Mostly it's blizzaks ws80/michelin xi3/nokian wr for unstudded and nokian hakkapelitas 8 for studded ones. For summer/daily driving/track driving tires i trust more what i read in this forum from their actual experience.

Cooper Weather Master st2- Winter
Just had my weather masters taken off for the summer last month. They where great tires for me, I live in the Metro Detroit area. I didn't put any weight in my trunk and driving in bad weather wasn't something I had to worry about. I give them 5 stars! Also, I was pretty hard on these tires with the parking lot shenanigans and what not when it did snow and at the end of winter my fronts had 10/10 tread and rear had 9/10. Cooper Zeon RS3-S - Summer Only been on for a month and its not quite summer yet. But on the few days its been warm and dry I can definitely feel that these tires are going to serve me well. Price for both with labor was around $560. However I did get a 60 rebate. |

Hey anyone serious question, general grabbers (A/T) vs General altimax Arctic? I live in Kentucky the winters aren't too and but occasionally we get snowstorms it's mainly slush and flurries. Will be going with 16" Subaru wheels and some mudflaps, to complete the look I was considering AT tires. How would these do in the winter?

I live in toronto + this will be the first winter driving my new brz... even though I swore by blizzaks on my little corrado for 24 years (it was a little german panzer tank and I passed everyone on the road)... i opted for hakapeliita R2 tires on the OEM rims for the brz... I'll upgrade to a nice summer wheel set-up...

Bought a set of General Arctic Altimax in stock tire size. Got them based on good reviews on this thread! This is a great thread!

Tire: Toyo GSI-5
Size: 205/55/R16 94T Location: Ottawa Ontario Canada Driver: Daily driver, they were great tires much better then the Goodyear Nordic I had on my Corolla previously. I felt way more comfortable driving my 86 in the snow oppose to the old Corolla and was never concerned about getting stuck even when driving through 9 inches of snow. They were expensive but I think they are worth it as long as they last numerous winters. Last edited by rkaywhodat; 03-05-2017 at 12:40 PM. |

Been looking a long time for a set of winters. I think I am going to settle on 4 ExtremeContact Continental's on stock wheels. Gonna run me $700 w/ installation, since they're brand new. I can't find them used anywhere.
