Perrin Cold Air Intake CEL Code?

Can anyone post the CEL Code that pops up after driving around with the Perrin Cold Air Intake? Getting a tune done and the tuner wants the code if possible and I never got the codes scanned.

Not sure why that'd matter to a tuner... be careful.

But, to not be completely unhelpful, if you're using the 2.75", you won't have any CELs. If you're using the 3" (BigMAF) without a tune for it, you might get a lean code due to excessively positive LTFT -- not sure about the specific code.

He said it would make it easier if he knew, but it wasn't a problem. Yeah it's the 3' one. Thanks for the help though!

If the tuner scales the maf correctly for the perrin intake then you wont trip any cel codes.

hopefully they are scaling the maf correctly and not just disabling cel codes

Likey be P0171 or P0172 to rich or to lean codes

Done a few perrin and other intakes never had to disable rich lean cel codes just scaled them up and all good

Is there a problem with disabling the codes? The tuner is Dale from Castle Hill Performance if you know anything about him?

those code are their to alert you of problems.

the rich\lean codes trip if the long term fuel trims go out of range like over 30% and the measured afr is way different than what the ecu asks for. This should not happen if everything is running correctly so i dont see why you woyld need to disavle those warnings


maybe they have some reason for doing it but i have no idea why

WTF as if Dale doesn't know the code or cant get it of the car himself.

I agree, that's a strange question for a tuner to ask, when you're doing a tune, you shouldn't be turning off CELs, since you will want them to still be functional in case there is a real problem.
