How often do you run in Chicago? Know Clark walker or David Nolan or Carl or the burtek and his brother tony cambio? Those are the folks that I drive with the most that you may know. And Chris perry.

Yes... I will hopefully have some different angles this coming weekend, Hopefully I can find my camera mounts I have packed away somewhere....as I trek to Milwaukee...to compete with some gooood talent... Jason Franks, Colin Fiedler and some other 'pro' well setup cars.. ..My co-driver will be wheeling a WRX ...so it should be interesting... I could just run C-stock tire class with the mods I have...but what fun is that....wish my suspension would show up..:/...oh well..seat time is seat time I suppose..

Bill
Theres a few places he could gain considerable time. He did a real good job of gathering it back up and minimizing the time lost, but theres considerable time lost with the tail wagging that bad, maybe toe in the rear a hair until you have more knobs to turn with the suspension, and go with a smaller rear bar... Unless you like it tail slappy, then unwind the wheel earlier and let the car slide out more under the throttle... Thatll minimize the oversteer.

That's exactly what I was thinking. All that hooning may look cool on youtube but it means there is time to be gained. That big slide near the end was a bit ridiculous...did a safety steward have a talk with Andy after that run?

I didnt think it was that bad, i didnt see anything that would warrant a ss to be involved. he was driving the car and not doing anything necessarily dangerous, and it certainly didnt look on purpose. looks like he just left too much input in the wheel when he jumped on the accelerator. Inside rear probably didnt have much contact with the ground as well ending up with reduced traction and a big oversteer. Less bar should help that and a bit of rear toe in will reduce the tendency for the tailslide to grow so much in the slaloms

you guys are pretty critical... for reference...Traction control was off... Tires were at 45psi Squared..hot... and we were using the WRX 16mm Rear say... -0 camber essentially... we probably could have lowered the Tire pressures some too... but I was worried about eating the tires up..with no camber..so theres more pieces to this puzzle than meets the eye...the lot was not entirely smooth...as there were a few places that upset the car especially in some of the transitions...the sweeper coming out of the slalom was such a upset...and grip was minimal..I went for it in the same fashion on that corner...and ended up with a snap oversteer and killed a cone in the process... this totally was the debut run...and we WERE testing some things..so please don't over evaluate the runs... Andy is Very Accomplished..*Track record at Blackhawk on Street tires in an EVO*...he trusted the tires a bit more than I did...

Did you guys take any temps to make sure your pressures were correct? I took temps Saturday with a co driver and stock 35 front and back was perfect. Same tire as you just a 225. Stock alignment for me as well. We also sprayed as we were getting close to 140

Haha fair enough. Wasnt trying to come off critical, just pointing out what i observed. If that was indeed the surface than yea, probably not much to take away from it then. My first event in he brz will be similar... Pretty crummy surface, not something id want to dial a car in on. :happy0180:

Havn't gotten the door stabilizers yet... they are like 180 bucks...which I am using that money for other things right now... ...Eventually I will purchase..but for now..just trying to get a feel for the car...
Sway bar is OEM Subaru 08 plus WRX rear sway...and can be had for a few dollars or free ...mine was free...

Thanks for reminding me.. ...Fuel started at 1/4 tank...after 13 runs...6 ea normal...and 1 rerun for timing...never had a fuel issue. the fuel light never came on... we did some testing in parking lot the night before the event...Fuel light was on...and basically drove in sweeping circle for about 5 mins. at speed...like a G'force circle....Never hiccuped once... so as long as you don't run out...I would say 1/4 tank or less is a good starting point for the Fuel..more than that...is just extra weight....We did have a 5 gallon jug on site in case we needed any from the runs..which looks like that will be become std practice....but never needed it...ended up putting it in for the drive home..

He can drive. Oh and he won nationals on our shocks with his old STI.

Some camber in the back would help big time. I'm not sure the 16mm is too big just yet, but you have to get that alignment sorted.
