What is this stigma with every Pro Bowl being such a bore? As someone who doesn't follow football, why is it so bad to watch an all-star football game vs. say, the NBA All-Star game?

Oh, wait. Read Wikipedia. I still could use a more in-depth explanation, I suppose. Why does this still exist in the NFL if it sucks that bad?

Money. At least in my opinion, stopped watching years ago.

Not an NBA follower but from the few that I have watched, it seems they actually play with effort. In the pro bowl, its mostly two-hand touch with some tackling; which is completely understandable as why risk a potential career-ending injury for something that doesn't matter. Forgot who it was but they had a career-ending injury in their rookie season playing in the pro bowl.

Random thought: Been occupying my time looking for gym memberships that doesn't cost an arm or leg, open at night, and somewhat close to me.

Only 24 hour fitness comes up.

The shithole at work is just that... a shithole. Costco has a 400 dollar deal for 2 years.

the Pro-bowl is nothing but fluff, pomp and circumstance. basically no one wants to get hurt and end their career in a meaningless game. it's really all about the show. that's why it works for the NBA and also why I don't watch basketball. it's all about the hype and a bunch of fluff. 10 guys on a court all trying to have a bigger ego than the other 9. a 6-1/2ft tall guy dunks on a 10ft goal, bench warmers jump up waving a towel with one hand over their mouth yelling, "ooohhhh!!!" while the crowd all does the same thing sans towel.
the pre-game and other shows doing redicilous rankings and other equally pointless stuff.
almost half the league makes the so called "playoffs" that go on for almost as long as the regular season.

tl;dr, the NBA sucks and I don't like it.

it still gets ratings. from who and how I have no idea. but there has been talk of canceling the actual game. fine by me, I won't miss it.
