That said, they really aren't great on the track. Being so heavy, they wear through consumables and just aren't that tossable. On the street, it doesn't matter, but when you are actually driving at 9/10ths on the track it quickly becomes apparent.

That is why I got my 2016 BRZ. I will be doing some minor upgrades to improve some minor items (flat spot in torque range, track pads, lowered a bit etc), and in the end will have a car that is 600 lbs lighter than my M3, and more fun to drive. Will it be faster? Nope. But I'm fine with that. Stock vs stock, it already is more engaging.
Yeah, the BRZ reminds me of an E36 in all of the best ways. Sure, it's a little down on power, but it's a brand new car with a warranty.

My last car had all leather climate control sunroof etc and I didn't care for any of it.

It's not like most cars that have a Lsd or something for the top line model. Performance is the same, only difference is luxuries so one can say "I got the top line model" while most of these luxuries are so mediocre you can do them yourself at any time if you did decide to get them.

Good call.

To me, the keyless entry/start alone is worth it. Throw in automatic climate control and it's well worth it. Not only does the interior look better with it, the functionality is awesome. You're already sepending ~$25k, don't be cheap over ~$2k and end up having regrets later. Good luck.

I never thought I would care much about the keyless entry smart key, but not having to take a key out of my pocket is actually pretty great.

Agreed. I didn't try most of the features until after I bought it but it was worth getting all the features now that I have tested them

Yes it is! Especially now that I have my phone synced to the car. I barely have to do anything. It's really nice!
