The IDX was originally designed to be a direct competitor for the FRS. I remember reading that the owner of nissan liked the 86 a lot and thought toyota did a great job thats where the whole IDX came from.. too bad they are not making it.. It would be close to going back to their roots with the original 240z.

Back when they were Datsuns they were great! Then Nissan came in and slowly killed them

A 72 B210 was my wife's first car in 1984. There was no floor so I covered some tin with tar and stuck it in place for the safety. It had two un painted fiberglass front fenders. It burned a quart of oil for every tank of gas leaving a massive cloud of blue smoke behind her everywhere she went. And every now and then the transmission AT dash pot would stick at wide open throttle and you had to jump out open the hood and smack it.
