That's a big reason I'm buying it. The grill actually has holes in it, unlike the stock faux grill that looks cheap. When I see a kia optimas fender grill I am envious.

I think that would be a minus. First, it wouldn't actually do anything unless you cut holes through the inner fender for it to have something to vent. Second, if it were a vent, it would be letting water in where the car was not designed to have water, so that your car would rot from the inside out with rust cancer.

Anyway, here's the pic that looks like it's not really a vent:
So, so many never consider this when they start cutting up for mods. Sure you may get away with it in some climates but that doesn't mean it will be ok everywhere.

I don't think it's an actual vent, I believe it has holes in the outer grill but it leads to a sealed/closed area.

Are you kidding? In Canada our cars rot from the inside out regardless. And I would cut actual holes to make it functional.

Explain to me what is ricey about a black fender garnish. Just because you don't like something doesn't make it 'ricey'.

I think STi logos on a car that isn't an STi is ricey and looks bad. Isn't that what Honda ricers did years ago with their Civic Dx's and Civic Type R badges? So if anything, how you mod your car is more ricey than these fender garnishes.

So the BRZ factory lip kit is tacky? What about the various STi branded tS parts, like that fender garnish, for example?

Just because it has an STi logo doesn't necessarily mean someone is trying to pass it off as an AWD rocketship sedan. They're OEM parts. It's just like TRD.

The lip itself, no, STi badges yes.

you do know STI isn't the car itself? STI is the performance division for Subaru. So if they make STI parts for the BRZ, they're just STI parts..... they're not saying it's a BRZ STI. There's a difference between putting an STI part on a car, and putting and STI sticker/badge on the car by itself.

So you're saying if you put the STI parts on the car yourself you shouldn't put the emblem? I notice a lot of people use that lower grille emblem after they have the lip or sideskirts or something.

My comments were aimed at those trying to pass their car off as an STi, which some people do.

Replacement fender garnish with led blinker

Stop complaining cuz a few people said that fender garnish looks rice. It does look rice, it's a non functional vent and if you cut into your fenders to prove a point you're just being donkey-brained. It's cosmetic and that's that. Same as slapping a ton of STi emblems everywhere. Different strokes for different folks

Who's complaining? Who's cutting fenders? The factory garnish is non functional so the car is rice from the factory, right?

Putting on fender garnishes is not the same as trying to pass your car off as a trim level that it's not, that is rice IMO; same as the type r badges on Hondas. Yes, people do this with not only the OEM lip and garnish, but with STi emblems on the rear. You guys are acting like its a 3 foot tall aluminum wing with leds, its a fender garnish with a blinker built in that actually serves a purpose.

Rice no longer means rice, it means I don't like it. If you don't like it that's fine. You don't need to stink up the thread with your negative opinions.
