I am not sure to be honest. I thought I read that there were a couple of extra LEDs on the STi circuit board, but I swapped mine about 2 years ago now, and I can't remember. If it doesn't illuminate during the day then even better lol!

Yep The 2013 tS ones. I used a company here that imports car parts and half cuts from Japan . They ordered them directly through STi Japan for me ( I had to pay upfront and wait till enough orders came in for them to do a small batch run) which were then delivered to their Tokyo warehouse. From there they were loaded into a container with a heap of other parts and half cuts and sea freighted to Melbourne, then once cleared through customs they were shipped domestically to me. Took about 4 months all up.

That's also a great story, cheers!

It was fairly easy to do actually. At least if you do it this way, you will still have MPH on your digital speedo, and KPH on the analogue speedo for extra JDM points.
These two guides will show you whats involved -

Took me about an hour all up.

Alternatively, if you call a dealership they may be able to put you in touch with whoever they use to do gauge cluster repairs in your local area who should be able to do the swap for a small fee.

I wouldn't be surprised if its not suppose to. I see the sti part of it the same way as the actual analog displays where none of that is illuminated during the day. As long as it lights up at night when you turn on the lights and theres no effect on the rest of the cluster, I think it looks normal

Oh, that doesn't look that difficult at all. Very true about the digital still having MPH and gotta love extra JDM points. Haha. Did you have to buy the entire cluster or just the inset?

You have to buy the cluster as a whole. Thy won't sell the faceplate by itself. We've been talking and the only thing that's still not "true" doing the swap is the color of the gauge. Out stock cars use red leds for the numbers and gauges while the tS it a white/blue color. But even then it will involve at worst a swap of the less over

I had to buy the full cluster. One day I hope to be able to find someone who will be able to transfer the odometer data stored in my stock cluster onto the new STi cluster, in which case I will just swap the overlays and needles back over ... or get very brave and swap either the eeprom chips or LEDs between the two. I got my cluster about two years ago, and no one was able to transfer the data for me back then with the twins still being relatively unknown in Australia and not much knowledge out there about cluster swaps/immobilizers etc. Not to mention the legalities of doing so. I first enquired with Subaru Australia who could only suggest sending both clusters to Japan for recoding,( at great expense), so I took the easy route. Since then a bit more info has come to light.

The biggest downside to doing it my way is that the backlighting on the cluster remains red (stock) whereas the tS cluster should be a bluish white. No big deal for me at the moment as the red matches my defi racer boost and oil pressure gauges, but I can forsee the time when OCD will get the better of me

@muckypuppy very clean engine bay. Didn't know you had the Cosworth SC kit

Any other shots of the tS steering wheel? Wondering if it is the same thickness as stock, and your impressions of the leather vs stock. Thinking about putting in an order for the visor, cluster, and steering wheel.
