Yea, people are doing it this way:

Top tier gas vs No crickets

The independents may be ok IF they sell enough of the premium stuff to keep it fresh. Don't let branding fool you since most of it comes from the same place anyway and each just throw their own additives in and call it theirs.
One of the only times I had serious crickets was when I was out in the middle of now where and had to get gas at a Mom and Pop station. The car ran like crap and had mega crickets for that whole tank. Just out of curiosity I stopped by there a few weeks later and asked how often they got 91. He could not remember when the last shipment of it had been but knew it was "months". When it sits in the tanks for months at a time it really no longer is what they claim it is.

Sounds like a rich kids pet project.
it has been tested to make everything worse and to absolutely wreck older vehicles. Jay Leno has written a few articles on how terrible the stuff is for cars. Also it doesn't sit well even in newer cars, a couple of months can ruin the stuff.

I live in Winchester Bay Oregon. We are a pacific Ocean Oregon Coast Port. 4 cycle outboard engines are not supposed to use ethanol. There are no ports on the oregon coast that sell anything but non ethanol premium gas. I do not use ethanol gas in my lawn mower or small engines as it breaks down rubber and corrodes metal gas tanks. I see this is an old thread hopefully you can get non ethanol gas cheaper now. I made a trip a couple years ago back to the Iowa area and people were buying medium grade because it had no ethanol in it at that time. I can buy non ethanol premium at the port on the floating dock and on the shore for $3.30 per gallon last summer most of the stations I have found in this state sold it for about $4.65 My son just bought a 2016 FRS and the dealer filled it with probably regular ethanol gas and he got 28 mpg on that first tank. He filled it with Non Ethanol Premium last time and he got 32 mpg and he figured using a tank a week back and forth to work for a year it would cost him about $700 dollars more a year to use Non Ethanol premium but he did not figure the mileage difference. Hope that helps.

Honestly the site could use an update, something tied into google maps api that shows the closest station based on zip code or address....

I've been using nothing but E85 for 2 years now for about 60k miles. Ever since I switched over to ethonal, I've heard no crickets. Also, newer car's fuel lines are more corrosion prof so you wont have to worry about screwing that up. Plus ethanol is knock resistant. I would rather have ethanol in my system, especially with 91 oct than no ethanol at all.

When they started changing over to ethanol the old engines needed to have hardened valve seats so head work was required but later they found out rubber hoses were deteriorating and other corrosion. Not only corrosion it will eat plastic gas tanks in boats but I suppose you do not have to worry about plastic tanks in cars but lawn mowers and small engines will not last as long with ethanol. Ethanol is a solvent.

I have gas stations with 93 oct (10% ethanol) at same price as shell v power 91 oct and is very tempting.
I dont care about mpg, but idk if this engine or others components related can be broke it using ethanol blend

can you tell me why manufacturers of outboard motors like Yamaha and Honda discourage you from using ethanol and will void warranty if you use 15% ethanol? Maybe someone here knows why.

Not a clue. Are you talking two strokes? There could be an issue with the fuel and oil mix with ethanol maybe? My 4 stroke Merc engine doesn't restrict ethanol.

Wolfer show us where it says the warranty will be voided from using ethanol fuels on a modern outboard motor, I highly doubt that is the case, I know from experience on friends boats that that modern Hondas have a 5 year warranty:

NO WHERE DOES IT BLAME ETHANOL FOR A VOIDED WARRANTY. You are spreading misinformation and a myth

You will want to look into a SN or GF-5 oil in the future though with continuous use because e85 makes you more prone to fuel dilution and cut the oil change intervals in half to 3500
