I was worried when I didn't see a launch control option in the BRZ manual that went online a month back. Oh well...looks like my stock tires will last slightly longer.

My mom's '07 Corolla is the same way. I suspect it is a stationary rev limiter controlled through the electronic throttle.

I was practicing launches the other day. I have an automatic and turned all the nannies off and launched it just fine using the brake. I revved to 4k for my launch.

I can also confirm that the AT can go past 2k at launch.

If you have the stock clutch stop-and-go traffic won't be a big deal. It's when you go with a heavier pressure plate and different disc that the engagement gets to be a pain.

And how did you go about that. Nannies full off in manual mode or in drive with the sport button? Does the sport button do anything when in manual mode?

Try holding the off button until both traction and VSC are disabled on your dash.

Soooo I went out to make my video.. and what do you know I was able to launch it.

Whats happening is if you put your foot slammed into the brake 100 percent. It wont do it. If you do say 90 percent it will. Glad I went to make the video only to make my self look like a fool.

did some more testing while I was at it. We were having issues getting the car to down shift into first.

First goes to about 36 38 mph
2nd goes to about 63 65 mph.
It will not let you downshift into first till 33 mph. These are good to know things.
