We will test your BT+Torque Apps, and my Brodit Support + "Harry's LapTimer Petrolhead" + my new geometry.

I ll be maybe saturday afternoon @Les Ecuyers but not sure. Let me know.

PS : nice wheels
Sadly the track day is cancelled this Saturday. There is one next Saturday.

2.04 looks fast o:

I never had the opportunity to have clean lap on new tires, clean track with the fully built Lotus.

I drove 2.02.5 with a damaged gearbox.
I drove 2.05.3 with a passenger, dead tires and slightly wet track with all the parts on the car.

You saw an 86 drive 2.04 so far ?

As i would expect, but if i were you i wouldn't be able to get out of the car until it's all properly bedded in and tested

Regarding the steering feel and wheels...

The steering as soon as you get rid of the Primacy's, it gets WAY better. I'm on 215/45 Super Sports and it is really nice, however i'm becoming more and more fond of the stock wheel specs(not the tires), i'll try to explain:

With the ATS and a more aggressive offset, grip is good but you loose adjustability and it's not as progressive when going from oversteer to understeer in certain situations, for example. Same Super Sport tires on stock wheels were way better balanced and grip/feel was spot on.

So i'm curious to know how it handles with such a wide tire and the offset you're running...

We are going to the track next Saturday to find out

That was my last hot lap attempt with worn out tires :

Yes, it's the best near Paris. There is off camber turn all over the place. That's a nice challenge.

I had the opportunity to drive on track today.

It was dry, between 1 and 3°C with black ice at some critical spots around the track
Lap times were pretty much meaningless.

At track speed, the steering is fine. Not Lotus quality, but I guess it will be good with ball joints top mounts and the right bushings.

When I had the opportunity to have some grip, the ad08r were moving the stock suspension all over the place. Definitely way too soft.

They look like really good tires.

I had corner entry oversteer, not crazy, but unexpected on a stock suspension. Definitely a drift car.

Pedal dance is a pain to do. I had it right once. I drove without after that. I need that magic box to make it automatically.
Without the dance, slight ABS activation makes the driving line inaccurate.
The Ice was more of a pain than that, so I changed my braking a bit for today.

The RR works fine. That was a easy day for them. It needs more testing.

The gas pedal calibration is total journalists crap. 2nd gear was totally useless in this conditions. Feels like you have 50% torque with 1% travel.

The rain started at the end of the midday break. So I went home, missing the opportunity to shoot a video on the non icy track (sorry about that)

Even with the 1Hz GPS, Racechrono predictive lap timing worked great. That's one hell of a tool. I need that 10Hz sensor :p

At the end of the day, that's a great car with massive potential. It drives exactly like the spec sheet says.

I was really happy driving back home in the rain, not being in the Lotus on worn out a048r.

I guess I miss Lotus ABS which is faster.

The car is a lot easier to catch thanks to the weight distribution. But the soft springs make the catch less accurate.

Edit: I drove 2.22.00 for an optimal lap of 2.21.86
Given the conditions that's OK. In the dry in the Lotus on new a048r I guess I can drive 2.00.00.
The 86 might do 2.05 - 2.07 I guess. 2.10.00 is totally sure.

Did you get opportunity to form an opinion on the 245 tire width?

It looks that he answered partially. Suspension is too soft with these tires. Factory mentioned some time ago that you can go up to a 225 tire with stock suspension ...
