Fixed. Although with the new turbo four cylinder Camaro I am kind of interested. I would love to have a turbo Camaro decimate a 5.0 sounding like a Honda civic. The turbo four should actually take to mods well and be a neat platform. All V6 muscle cars are horrible though and only need to be driven as rental cars. |

haha I've said that too but truth is, there's times id like a auto. I can multitask (unsafe derp) more often. I also wouldnt have to worry bout my car stalling in the mornings when I'm half awake (lol). Truth be told, love both but i feel manual is more engaging and truer to the spirit of 'driving.' In Plato's words: Auto driving a twin=shadow, Manual driving=driving. Anyway, I forgot about the Camaro 4cyl turbos! Good info here It'd be more than enough power for me on the 4cyl turbo!~ As a family car, OP, what about a Legacy? Or a Lexus? 4 door, room, some power, look nice!

I chose the Camaro because I have no use for a bra.

I feel like everyone is too biased by the 4th gen camaro and mustangs, with those pathetic v6's. The new LGX v6 is pretty freaking impressive. 335 hp and 285 ftlb torque out of a 3.5L is pretty impressive. Better numbers than my vq37vhr which even has 200 more cc.
Seeing how the v8 is almost 10k more expensive (and who knows how long it'll take before the 2016 v8 camaro doesn't have a dealer markup), I don't think I would fault people anymore for choosing a v6 mustang or camaro. I hope they get pobst to post some times with the v6 camaro as well as the v8s. I really want to see how it stacks up. Wouldn't be suprised if they bested lots of pricey european sports cars. |

[Personal opinion]
Just like the 86 is more than the sum of its numbers(not that fast but damn is it fun) I agree with the idea that any REAL American muscle car has at least 8 cylinders in it. And I will think less of anyone who buys less. [/Personal opinion] Get whatever makes you happy and eff everyone elses personal opinions. They don't have to drive it, you do. |

When I was shopping for a new car it really was a fight, considering a BRZ , v6 camero, Genesis v6, G37, m3.
It came down to the v6 camero and an FRS. I had rented a v6 camero for a week before, and I was very inpressed with it. I say the only down side is the resale value drops like a mofo cause the new one each year looks way, way better. The power and comfort are way better than the 86, gas wise it did a few mpg better than my 91 mr2 turbo. The only reason why I didn't jump on the v6 camero was this BRZ popped up for less, and the new 2015 camero made all previous models look like dog shit. Now the 2016 looks even better. I never did buy into the v6 vs v8 fight on the camero. To me it's just an optimal engine. 300hp with about 30mpg what's not to like? Other than the next years model makes the old one look like dog shit.

Lol I actually like the bath tub high door feeling. The poor visibility I noticed on every new car from 2010+. But I did get used to it after a day. I complained about the same thing on the BRZ.

Also, if you actually look like the way you do in your profile picture... then you will be treated like a god in every circle... car respect or not... each car you step in would instantly become HOT. Note: the black guy isn't the picture I am talking about. |

I've driven a previous gen Mustang V6 w/ track pack, previoius gen Camaro 'vert V6, and previous gen Camaro SS.
I have absolutely zero regrets about choosing the 86 (I've owned it for 3 years now and have no inclination to test the new generations). There are tens of thousands of people who would balk at that statement and call me crazy. IMO the previous generation of pony cars drove like the other 3,500+ pound American vehicles I grew up with: Pickups and Minivans. Test drives are free, get whatever makes you happy. Also, my vote is for braless. ![]() Edit: Also ridden shotgun in a Mustang Boss 302, at Laguna Seca, still didn't change my mind. Awesome car though. No one should be looked down on for what they purchase and drive. You don't think someone that drives an Alfa, Aston, or Porsche - is a better person than you, do you? When I was 19 - I had my first Porsche (944 turbo S) I thought it was one of the best cars made, and everything underneath of it was crap. It took a few years to grow up from that mindset - 16 years later - I feel like I have grown up a lot, and I still love cars. But I am a heck of a lot easier on the "younger" crowd. Because that was me. I was there... Enthusiasts come in all shapes and sizes, backgrounds, education levels, and financial ability. The dude breaking his neck to pay for his M3, might not have a place to live next week. So don't judge others just because today you are in a sweet spot. But who am I - I like EV's, cheap eco cars (I dearly miss my TRD spec'd out yaris for the 45mpg I could get), I like bikes, roadsters, old cars, antique cars, exotics. I feel like we live in an amazing automotive time - and I can appreciate ALL the cars that lead up to where we are today (be it really good cars, or bad cars) - but those bad cars - are what got us to the good and great cars of today. Without the V6 fleet - the V8's might never have made it. And seriously - I don't mean any of that negatively towards you. I bet your younger (I am mid 30's) and I'd prefer to make friends, and not fight/argue.
