I'm getting an alignment and the only thing they have on the TV is Law and Order SVU. I guess it's getting rapey today.

They were all experimental setups that were wide open and quite lethal. Think of Leonard's lab multiplied by 1000.

Then, after college, I went to design motion systems for the company that made all those toys pictured.

Wait what kind of laser welder are we talking about?

I only need ~100-150 Joules with a microscope. Jewelry stuff, not burning off Tco- err... Mr Bond's nutsack stuff.

Surely a little, tiny, unsuitable for torture, $25K laser welder wouldn't be missed...

That reminds me of the consulting company I worked at after university. There was some kind of photocopier sales war going on at the time. We just called up Xerox and they sent over a trial unit for free. After six months the sales guy started calling about whether we were going to buy it or not. We just called Cannon and got another trial unit, then on to a third company (I forget). Eventually we even went back to Xerox for the next newer model. We went for a couple of years without actually buying a photocopier before the sales guys got wise (or started to care)!

Himmmm you may be onto something there since some of the car dealerships are doing 48 hour test drives. I wonder if I could get through any bad weather periods without driving my car?

You just need a magnifying glass.

The biggest one was a 20 Kw CW Nd-YAG. It would shoot through schools.
