Just curious, why are you upsizing to 17x9? I'm in the process of deciding between 17x8 RPF1s (225/45/17) and 17x9 (235/45/17) for stock power/street driving and I'm pretty torn.

Autocrossing if I'm not mistaken, the STX class allows for 9" wide wheels and most people are running 245's (some 255's). From what I've heard it's hard to get the 255 and up in the operating temperature and it's known that the larger tires can result in slower track laptimes due to weight, rolling resistance, and diameter changing the effective gearing but autocross focuses on mechanical grip and the gearing can eliminate a shift or prevent you from hitting the revlimiter on the straight.

Sounds like the 8" would be more appropriate for you (and you can still run the 235's) as you're not competing and sticking with stock power more grip from wider tires isn't terribly necessary, not to mention the 8's will be lighter which is a noticeable performance advantage.

Hey Sharky, I'll be ready to trade mine in about 3-5 years after I'm done being competitive

Lol I'm afraid that'll be a little late for me.

It is for the sake of being more competitive in autocross, but if I can't find anyone to trade then I'll just not worry about being as competitive and focus on HPDE more.

What color are these? It's a little hard to tell from the pics if they're silver or bronze.

I stayed with 17x8 due to doing both track and autocross. I'd consider this for winter tires, may follow up.
