The car will eventually be lowered ~1" when I install coilovers. Ohlins, AST and Bilstein are on my short list, though none are available yet.

235 40 17 Dunlop Star Specs next to OEM rubber.

Measured under weight, on car with similar PSI, the new tire/wheel set up is ~1/4" shorter in height than the factory rubber. OEM tire/wheel weight was ~40.5 lbs, compared to ~40.75 lbs for the Enkei/Dunlop combo. I'm told the 235/40-17 size in the Dunlop may be discountinued.

Lots of great pictures!
Thanks for sharing! Love the Firestorm, and those wheels look great!
Congratulations!

What are your first impression from putting sticky tires on the car?
Did you have some experience with going wide (oversteer) on the stock tires before changing to sticky compound?

No, I babied the stock tires as they are for sale now, along with the wheels. They still have the "teats" on the shoulder treads. I've run the Star Specs before, and they won't be spared any pain, trust me. If you haven't already, invest in a good radar detector, or better yet take it to the track. It's difficult not to speed in this car.

Then my wife and I (who "couldn't have kids") found out we were going to be parents at 40. Goodbye MX-5 to a really nice youg guy in Florida, hello 08' Civic SI Sedan. Now that our daughter is five, and can get belted in herself, I'm looking to get an FR-S for my 45th birthday in September.
Congrats on the new FR-S! That is one sweet looking house.

New Plumbing

Caved in & ordered one of the new Nameless axleback exhausts. Was trying to hold out for a nice SS muffler in the $400. area, but got impatient. I'm told it will ship this Friday. Sound clip in post #9:

Factory Mud Guards

Thanks for all the positive comments, Guys. ~550 miles on the clock & all is well. Will be putting some serious miles on her when I drive from Houston to Whistler, BC in a couple of weeks-over 5K round trip. Installed the factory mud guards earlier-anything to cut down on cleaning track rubber off the car. Kit went on pretty easy, and fit was good. Very reasonable @ $55.00 shipped. Only thing was the hardware kit was short two of the small panel clips for the rear. Don't think they're going anywhere while I wait to get them in the mail. Should be able to add them without disassembling anything else. Also installed a crap catch behind the front grill to keep the condensing unit clean & damage free.
