Random guy flagged me down at a red light. He let me know that my deceleration pops shpuld be fixed or else I will "blow the head".

Just checking if anyone local is interested before going to the classified section.

I'm very close to pulling the trigger on a turbo kit, if I do i'm looking to sell my FT86 Catted UEL. New it runs around $960 list on their site. I've had it on the car for approx 1500 miles with no problems. It has a slight nick in it from hitting the skidplate but functionally everything is intact. I'd be glad to get some pictures if someone is interested.

I'm hoping to get rid of it locally for ~$700. I would just be using it to offset the cost of the turbo kit so any realistic offers are welcome. You can have the gaskets as well as they have only been used for 1500 miles but it is definitely recommended to get new gaskets anyway.

Posting here in case anyone is intersted. I have an invidia q300 exhaust that I am not happy with, only because I'm not a fan of how loud it gets under WOT, which isn't even loud, but not my syle. I just would prefer people around me to not know I'm going WOT lol..
Looking for $550, 1 day old, so far, still installed. Non titanium tipped version

After yesterday's storm I've been wondering - is there a consensus on whether or not to have nannies on with snow on the ground? I like the idea of it possibly being able to react to slip faster than I can, but the thought of it cutting power with my ass end out doesn't seem too pleasant. What do you guys do with TCS/VSC?

I tend to turn off everything and start in second gear rather than first to get out if stuck in the snow.

Hey Guys!

Hey everyone, just wanted to introduce myself (and subscribe to this thread). Just picked up a used '14 BRZ limited. I'm up in the northern suburbs myself.

Super psyched about the car so far! Definitely want to get some winter tires for it though. Driving around in the snow on the stock tires ain't exactly confidence inspiring... and my previous car was a '94 Volvo 940 turbo, RWD with no "nannies" of any kind...

I turn it off , so I can control the amount of traction , with a good set of tires (I have blizzaks) the car is really predictable with the amount of wheel spin.

You can't really feel when the car has grip compared to when the tsc is on I feel.

I don't like the idea of the car cutting power when I need to power it out. You gain more confident when driving reasonable with the traction control off.

I wanted to try the stocks in the winter as we were supposed to have a very mild winter this year but after hitting a snow bank (to avoid an accident and I did have ~200 lbs of sandbags in the trunk) it will probably be worth my time to just take the plunge on some winter tires.

I'm between the Blizzak WS80s and the X-ice Xi3. From what I can find the Xi3 is going to be a bit better on dry roads but the WS80s had significantly shorter stopping distance and quicker acceleration on snow/ice. We actually have pretty good infrastructure here and even when it snows pretty bad the roads are usually cleared up quickly so I actually spend a lot of winter driving on clean dry roads.

If I do the majority of my winter driving on clean roads is that going to wear down the winter tires very quickly? I would prefer the better rating of the blizzaks on snow/ice but I still spend most of the time on dry roads so I'm thinking I wont wear down the x-ice as fast and discount tire has a 40k warranty on the x-ice.

Do the people who run winter tires still have sandbags in the trunk or do you find the tires alone give enough grip?

Haven't sold it yet and it is still on my car. Still no CELs or any problems.

I'm tentatively installing my turbo kit in April so that is when I'll take it off to sell. I'll probably bring the price down a little bit as well since it will have been on the car longer.

Shoot, I was going to say I could probably pick it up later this month. Chicago is a 5 hr drive from me, and FT86SF is apparently backordered. That would fit my personal needs and I've been looking for a Used UEL header that's reasonable, lol.

I'll see how quickly I can get access to my buddy's lift as I don't have a problem going back to the stock header for rest of the winter. Do you know what date you would be up here?
