The TRD springs are more or less rebranded Eibachs. I'd suggest going with those since they are actually cheaper and are just as quality of a product.

I've heard someone mention that their TRD springs came in packaging that referenced RS*S. Are Eibach and RS*S related?

Probably talking about me.
Dealer said they were TRDs when they installed them but they were wrong. They were actually RS*Rs as could be clearly seen on the box they came in. Turned out is was a miscommunication between the service and sales departments and they should never have been called TRD in the first place.
As far as I know there is no relationship between the companies.

Question: I got TRD springs, and was planning on installing them in a day or two. How long after installation should I go get an alignment?

I would give it a couple of days but not to long. The amount of settling can be surprising.

You get used to it and become very good at applied geometry and judging heights.

Most dealerships will check your alignment from free and only charge you if the car is out of alignment.
Your ok to drive around as the only thing that happens from having your car out of alignment is minor tire wear.

A lot of people here don't know about the ECU update look on page 20 of this install pdf file.

That ECU update won't affect my tune will it? Also, I'm considering taking it to a Toyota dealership. Any ballpark what they'd charge?

It shouldn't affect your tune as for what dealer cost is who really knows....

I've seen so many people posting different install prices from dealerships so now I always tell them to contact their local dealer for pricing.
