I heard that the Injen metal tube absorbs engine heat and when the engine warms up power gains drop. +13 HP isn't consistent. I hear the AEM intake isn't as affected by engine heat due to the materials they use. Just what I heard.

That's not necessarily true. You can manipulate gear ratios or add a lightened flywheel. These do not create horsepower. Lightened flywheel increases the throttle response but does not create horsepower. It may affect the the HP to weight ratio but no increase in horsepower.

You just brought a 2 year old thread to life again, and this is my first time seeing it and it's quite interesting. I think air raid ended up fixing there issues at some point and there gains were still abysmal in fact they originally boasted about having access to an FR-S in the US before everyone else. Also noticing the lack of TRD intake results, I think it only makes 3 hp and 4-5 lb ft of torque stock according to 3rd party tests, even though it has almost a 60% larger panel filter than stock

FRSBRZGT86FAN: there are two ways to reduce how resistant airfilter to airflow is - one is to lessen it's filtering capability, another - to rise it's surface area (the reason why they are zig-zag folded). I guess TRD simply didn't want to compromise former and simply went for later, as in even more filter area (which is not that bad of choice imho).

Haha sorry, I just thought I would correct that statement, my example was just to clarify, for example lightened drive shaft or flywheel doesn't create more horsepower but free's up existing horsepower. I think there is very big difference.

If I can keep things OEM I would, when there is no real benefit to gain from using an aftermarket part. I wish TRD would freaken diversify their product line. I would buy everything TRD because their part would go through strict quality control inspections and I would have the confidence in my purchase. I guess were going to have to live with intake, exhaust, and some suspension parts.

I am curious to what parts you would want. And then ask yourself, why would someone pay 2x the amount when quality aftermarket parts are half the price.
