@MuseChaser ... Don't get caught up in Frog's shenanigans... He's an old forum troll by the name of fap who was banned.

Nice! Mostly in what New York state residents call the "North Country." Lot of state land in St. Lawrence county up near the Canadian border, and I've camped in the Adirondaks a bunch of times, too. The first time I went out in serious Adirondak winter temps I gotta admit I was a little scared, but I've got a great bag and good equipment, and it was fine.. really fun. It got down to -25F one night and I remember waking up, but still with my eyes closed, feeling the snow falling on my face. The catch is, I was in my NorthFace Mountain tent at the time. I freaked.. thought that somehow my tent had ripped or a tree had fallen on it during the night or something. Then I opened my eyes and saw that everything was fine. It was so cold that my breath, throughout the night, had frozen and condensed into a small stalagmite (or is it a stalactite? I can never remember which one hangs) on the roof of my tent over my head and was flaking off and falling back down on me! I was still toasty warm.. except for the tip of my nose.

As you know, the hardest part about camping in the winter is getting up the nerve to get outta your bag in the morning and getting that first cup o' joe in you!

Oh.. I don't know where in Quebec you are.. I used to camp and fish in the Verendrye Reserve almost every late August from the early 70s up until the 90s. We usually stayed on Lac Andou or Cabonga. Beautiful place, and the Northern Pike and Walleye fishing was wonderful. Over the years, like every where else in the world, it got built up, less remote, overfished, and less fun, so we haven't been in a long time. GREAT memories of driving up to Maniwaki, then heading further north on nothin' but dirt roads. Are you familiar with that part of Quebec?

Best to ya,

Barry

You do bring up a valid point. On the other hand, I said that I (picture that "I" double capitalized for emphasis then say it that way... how come that works for every word BUT "I?") would rather be cold... and... there's always a nice wood-fired outdoor sauna..

I didn't say I'd rather my WIFE be cold. Where did you find her pic, anyway?

You do have to question his confidence in his skiing abilities when his thoughts were obviously "better buy a bright orange suit so they can find me in the drifts".
