I've got Bluebatmobile's overlay on my reverse lights and love the look. With the stock reverse bulbs, the look is very yellow when they're lit, but I replaced mine with some LEDs from DiodeDynamics. Very bright through the overlay now.

Regarding legality, in the US, I don't believe back-up lights are mandated by law, and a rear fog light definitely isn't (especially since it doesn't work in stock USDM form). I think tinting this light gives the lower diffuser a much cleaner appearance.

Quality has been perfect over the 6+ months it has been on the car and installation was easy, if a bit fiddly to get it lined up perfectly.
