I was going to suggest a YETI cup but you couldn't afford one of those right now on that salary.

Most (reasonable) folks will understand that. Then again we are talking about a girlfriend here so you are probably screwed, and not in a good way.

the cooler? not for me. it's a PITA to carry around and ice is cheap. however if you're not constantly opening the cooler and ice isn't readily available it's worth it.
for example when I'm on the lake and there's no ice to be had anywhere near by it's nice for my beers to stay cold all day while my friends coolers burn out and piss water everywhere it's worth it. I took some beers home we had left over from the company Christmas party last Thursday. it still has ice in it and the beer is still cold waiting no my lazy self to dry them and put them in the fridge or drink them. but if you're just going to need to keep something in it for a couple of hours it's a waste. the people that get the best use out of them are hunters and fishermen and then the bigger ones suit them the most. they need something they can fill and it keep cold for days at a time and that can take a physical beating. most avg folks won't get the full use out of them. |
