My Enkei RPF1's came from the Tire Rack with Gorilla PLASTIC hub-centric rings. I ran them this way at the track in June. The fronts heated to the point that they warped and glued themselves to the hub. When I used a pliers to remove them, they did come off, but in several pieces. The plastic had no strength left whatsoever after this heat-cycling. They were very brittle and unusably warped.

I like running with hub-centric rings. I just had to replace a stud and lug because of a cross-threaded lug nut. Yes, this could have been my fault – maybe I just wasn't careful enough, but I can tell you it is much easier to not do this sort of thing with a hub centric ring helping to line everything up.

My new plan is to order a set of aluminum alloy hub-centric rings (from the Touge Factory in the previous post – thanks to them as these things are difficult to find), and make sure to put anti-sieze on the hub.

So, is it my imagination, or does the spoke dip a lot more to the base of the rim on the 45 offset versus the 35 offset? Anyone have a side by side photo? Shame that the 9" wide RPF1s require suspension mods to fit. The clearly look the best.

+1 to more pics on stock suspension. So has it came to a final conclusion which is better offset for our cars? +35 or +45?

i got bfg comp 2 all season 225/45 17s. they were the right mix of affordable, highly rated and cold weather useful for me. we dont really 'do' winters in tn but it does dip regularly below the acceptable temp for pure summer tires for 3-4 months of the year. theyre a little taller than the stock 215s but its only by about 1% total.

When you have a chance, I'd be very interested in your evaluation of the BFGs. We don't do winter at all down here, but I hope to take the car on a couple of CC trips in the spring/early summer that have a chance to encounter some cooler temps. I'm sure I could get summer tires warmed up, but I'm drawn the UHP all seasons.

well i can only really speak for street driving, i dont autox or track my car. in any way that could truly test them at the real limits. but i can say that they are definitely stickier than the stock primacys though not sure how much that might be due to the added width. when they break away they feel communicative beforehand but they do break away fast right after they tell you that theyre going to. they feel easy to regain grip afterwards as well. the steering feels just as communicative as before and theyre not too loud (though theyve only got about 400 mi on them).

theres a long sweeping highway exit that has a right turn left with height change and i can comfortably take it over 60mph whereas before it would start to break away by then with the primacies. i also have experienced no loss of traction even with the 20-30 degree nights weve been having. dont know how much help that is but id recommend them at least based on my experience so far.
