TBH, I've heard of that thread... but I'm just too lazy reading +10 pages comments. Until someone report it, I'm not gonna bother with it. We're adults, (physically, but not mentally) we can control ourselves. (not really, but I wish)

Actually the part you missed was where I pointed out that (in public) you ARE free to say whatever you want even if it pisses someone off or rustles their jimmies. The whole concept of "Hate speech" is a touchy one, and I personally "HATE" the term itself.
A certain founding document states that ALL speech is protected and does not mention, or address this "hate speech" concept we have recently invented.
And I pointed out that even Bigots have a right to their opinion, and trying to quiet them violates THEIR rights.
People even have a right to be racist if they want they just cannot use violence to make their point.


On a forum, you are right.
The rules are - "Whatever the mods say" - Period.
I don't argue with that.

You did make some valid points in that thread stu but the main problem wasn't you it was the other asshat who had created a thread and was using racially charged expressions to try and be funny (I guess).


HE said something about the French (not just from france but every French speaking person on the planet) regarding snobbery. That I had no issues with, he did qualify the French speakers as frogs which is a racist slander (see n word and things of that nature) and that is where my issue resided. I originally politely asked him to watch to ensure not to accidentally cross the line between funny and racist. His response to that was to try and spread lies that frogsnobbery was an accepted scientific term accepted to define a cultural dynamic, which is total BS.


I didn't even think he had made the comment with negativity in mind just that he slipped up but then trying to defend his use of the term and bringing science into this to try and falsely justify his bigotry was just not something I was prepared to stand by idly while he continued to spew hate and misinformation.


That is all, I don't want to get back into this but figure(from what I've seen of you) that you are logical enough (even if you do not agree with me) to not start off the topic again. Just figured I would provide you with my reasoning as to why it started.

Sadly, can't deny that. 99% of the time "whatever the mods/admin say". This is why we "try" not to stick our nose in some of the discussions... until it's getting out of hand or worse WAY OUT OF HAND.

We set a rules for everyone to follow. As long as it doesn't go against that, discuss/debate/troll all you like. We just keep delete/lock buttons away and go on our way.
