What kind of reactions are you getting in your BRZ?

I've had a few people look as I drove by, but many motorists don't seem to even notice. This group of High School kids saw me at a light and said "das a zubaru?!?!?" They proceeded to come over and give me high fives. As I drove away they were like "omg stick shift"

I don't watch other peopel when driving so the only ones I've noticed on the obvious stuff, like people revving on me (which is something I'll never understand), occasionally people turning around in this seats in the car in front of me, etc.

I haven't driven the car around many pedestrians yet, but on the highways I've been getting a disproportionate amount of high speed fly bys from other drivers.

This thread makes me not want to own this car. Compliments and thumbs-up are great, but cars with this kind of profile are usually victims of vandalism and theft. People wanting what they either can't afford, or hating on those who have it out of pure spite. Hopefully I'm wrong though.

For me the only people who noticed my car in the first place are people who like cars. A $25k Subaru shouldn't create a lot of spite. The average new car sale today is over $30k, so these are cheap cars.

I've had a few instances that were cool, but it seems most people in Chattanooga don't notice the car!

My first drive in the car got a thumbs up from some guys on the highway. Then when driving down one of the slower roads here in Chattanooga had a guy pull up, check out the car, and ask to roll the window down. He shouted out, "What the hell is that thing?!" Told him what it was, and he gave a thumbs up and "That's a cool car!" Also met another Subie owner I parked by who was checking it out. Saw him looking and yelled over, "Want to see the inside?" Turned out he works with the same company so I've FINALLY found another car buff here to hang with!

Other than that I've had a few people appear to notice me on the highway. If they've been on my side of the road I've seen them try to catch up but ironically I've been able to slip through where they were unable to get a good look at the car.

I've been making sure to wipe the car down and keep it as clean as possible to show it off. Not for the fact of being vein but I feel like I want to "share" how great this car is with others! I LOVE IT!

I haven't experienced any spite driving my Cayman R. You can't live your life worrying about what others might think. If you want the car, buy it and enjoy it.

I believe there is just a common interest in the car rather than attracting those who would do harm. Understand the fear, but I have yet to have met anyone or saw anyone that made me feel the car was in danger of being vandalized. It could happen though... But it could happen to any car. I had a $900 Accord got keyed along with other cars because some teenagers were bored one night... So yeah, nothing you can do about that no matter what you drive!

Everytime I go out for a drive, I always notice a lot of scion tc owners look and stare at the car for a long time. I also notice that mostly younger people look at the car not a lot of old people(they really don't care). One experience I had though when I was driving on a highway when I had an encounter with a GTR! The owners were looking at my car and then went on it's way. I was going to pull up next to him and give him a thumbs up but he wouldn't let me. Then when I was on my way home the same GTR passed by me, pulled up next to me and revved it! haha

Forgot to mention those Subaru WRX/Sti owners! They almost break their necks looking at the car everytime they pass by me xDD

I've gotten compliments from a 350z, a supra, and a 325.

But one this one takes the cake. I went to the hardware store to get more 3M velcro for my IPass, and a 60 year old woman(she told me) comes up to me and ask's if this is the new BRZ... I said yes, and she went on to tell me that she has one on pre-order since the 3/14, and that it will be replacing her 3000GT.

She hadnt seen one in person yet so I showed her around the car, talked about all the little features, and let her sit in it.

It made her day, and made mine too.

Went to the dentist this morning...dentist comes in and see's my Subaru shirt and asks if that's my Silver Subaru in the parking lot. Of course I say "yes", he asks what model it is and I answer "the new 2013 BRZ". He asks if he can take a look at it...so we go out to the parking lot, he sits in it, checks it out and we talk about the car for 30 minutes...I think he's coming by this afternoon to put his name on the wait list! LOL
