Trying to write a Christmas card to a friend. Unfortunately, anything that I try to write would probably bring attention back to something she is going through right now (family member going through cancer). Attempting to get her mind off it but....

Local anime shop. Went in for simple stickers but spotted the card.

Was going to buy a more anime specific card online but had a feeling it wouldn't arrive in time.

I don't do much heart to heart stuff.

When it comes to terminal illnesses, it's going to be hard to get her mind off those things. I know from personal experience, because my dad was diagnosed with it. The whole family was under so much pain, and I was reminded daily until the day he passed away that we would not have him with us for long.

I regret not spending as much time as I should have in his final years. Sometimes I wonder how much different life would be if he was still with me.

As far as what to say goes don't try to bury the situation. You know what's up and she knows what's up so trying skirt the subject can become more awkward then not. A simple show of support without getting carried away is perfectly appropriate in the situation. Nothing you say will make her forget but a single line can make her realize you understand and care.
