I'm happily committed to another 3-4 years with the FR-S, but looking forward to scooping up a used SS or Z/28 Camaro after that as a possible replacement or addition. Hopefully gas prices aren't through the roof at that point.

The new Z06 uses a 6.2 with a supercharger called the LT4, that is what replaced the LS7.

And on the dyno that engine made similar HP numbers and more torque all around than the Ford 5.2..... Weight is a hard thing to overcome in the 5th gen Camaros.

I consider the LT4 a replacement of the LS9 and LSA engines. In terms of displacement, there isn't a proper LS7 replacement and probably will never be.

I suppose you have a point there on power though.

For real. I'm not digging the new guy at all especially the way he presents it.... it's like watching those game streaming youtubers on minecraft & it's all about fake reactions to generate hits...

fn hurts my brain cell watching it.

But that GT350R with flat crank V8 is really something else. Number alone I wouldn't think it makes such a big difference.

Yeah I liked Carlos' style of presentation better. Jason is just too wacky.

I agree, personally I don't care as much about the ls7 torque curve or how incredible the new z28 will be, that ford v8 has just so much character. Love the noises it makes, especially on overrun!

When you start paying 50-70 grand for pony cars, walk past them to the Vettes, way more car for the money and a true all around car

Sadly, some people aren't so open minded.

I'm curious to see how you would quantify this opinion.

Same here. I would love to hear your definition of an all around car. I am guessing that it is going to run contrary to about 98% of the automotive consumer population.

Really? Never heard 99% of population say camaro and stang are a more rounded than a Vette. I doubt you can get 99% to say such thing. I'm not knocking them because I had one for over a decade. Truthfully if I had more garage space I'd still have it. But anyone who tells you a pony car is a better car than a Vette just might be drunk.

The Alpha Camaro is plenty fast, handles fantastically, can hold 4 people, and is significantly cheaper than the Corvette.

Plus, it probably won't overheat after one lap.

Plus room for the groceries, kids, luggage, friends, etc. That is why I wanted to hear his definition of a well rounded car. Based on sales numbers, I would say the majority of people find the Camaro and Mustang more of a well rounded car. It all depends on your priorities.

There is a reason why the majority of Covettes are owned by gray haired empty nesters.

And by the way: http://blog.caranddriver.com/dyno-sh...-the-corvette/
