I am almost done shopping for this year. I managed to spend 3 grand on myself, and under $250 for everyone else I am so going to hell hahahaha!!

Is there a general suspention chat thread?? I kinda want to see what people think is wrong with the OEM stuff? seems like everyone myself included buy springs or coilovers or somthing hahaha!

Just realized that a holiday decoration thread may not be such a good idea with how internet works today...

There's not a lot wrong with the OEM suspension. There's no camber in the front, and there's very little bump travel, but otherwise it's pretty decent for what it is.

I'd reckon most folks get suspension stuff just to get suspension stuff. A lot of the cheaper stuff isn't an upgrade, and people have weird (and wrong) expectations for how a good suspension should feel. A lot of folks associate underdamped/oversprung/superlow/stiff/rough coilovers with sportiness, but good dampers should not be that violent.

I figure a set of springs and Bilsteins or Konis would probably perform better than most coilovers at that price point (i.e. under $1200 USD). But if you need height adjustability, or need more bump travel, or want to run really high spring rates because racecar, or like twisting a bunch of knobs, or want to slam your car, then I suppose it makes sense to get coilovers.
