Heck, even @Tcoat has got coilovers and shit!

Am I the only one who think the stock suspension is fantastic for public roads and plenty good enough for recreational track days?

In fact... I feel a rant coming on...
- In fact, I don't get why anyone buys a ZN6 if they think it needs "upgrades" such as coilovers, turbo, supercharger, headers, footers, toenails, exhaust, coat hangers, body kits, boob jobs, seats, riveted plastic things, welded diffs, furry dashboards, battery straps, painted tail lights and whatever it is these people are doing to the poor innocent cars.
I really don't get it and I am getting a little annoyed.
Am I supposed to feel ashamed because I like my car the way it was designed and because I stopped fixing things that isn't broken about the same time I discovered girls?

- Just to clarify: I have nothing but the utmost respect for guys like Anthony and his project http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42284
He's building a racecar and he's clearly doing superb work.
It's the daily drivers with car loans who should be thinking more about their warranty and their safety on the road I don't get.
Holy crap Sar cursed! He is pissed.

The reason that mine is lightly modded is very simple. I am an attention whore (not breast fed as a baby or something). I love being able to say "ya, it is almost stock but..." when people ask. I think this self honesty is what is missing with some drivers and they have to come up with all sorts of internal justification as to why they want to mod.

My light mods in no way adversely affect the daily drive-ability and they make me happy. Since they were dealer installed they do not impact my warranty and were well within the price range I could easily afford. I have driven stock ones and to be very blunt I like mine far better. If I had to leave that stock exhaust on it and could not do my small drop I doubt I would have bought it. That is just me though and I appreciate that does not apply across the board for everybody.

Do some get carried away? Most certainly, (I still have no idea why people want 300hp in a street driven car of this type) but the car was marketed as a "blank canvas" to upgrade or change as the owners want and that is all they are doing.

Of course people can do whatever they like to their cars. It's their cars!

I guess I just overloaded at some of the smugness and righteousness in some of those threads. So it's not really the aftermarket parts, it's the attitudes of some people. Who isn't here. If you read this, I'm not talking about you :-)

Oh, and I would totally lose my mind on facebook. For so many reasons. So I'm not even on there :-)
I overload on the smugness every day! When people are scrimping to buy crap parts and then will fight with everybody to defend them, figure they have outsmarted the design engineers with their taped on "ram air" or blatantly state they know way more than those service "monkeys" even though it is the first car they ever owned they bring out the worst in me.

We need more Steves in the car world that are open in saying "I don't know. Please teach me" without debating everything put forward to them.

Ah shit, I forgot about my exhaust! Man, my long term memory is starting to go...

Speaking of memory, I've been an FTE and working night shift for 6 months now! Today also marks my 1 year at the job. Where has the time gone?

Rough synopsis guy's best buddy is dating a chick that can't get wet for him. Buddy kills himself, guy bangs the girl who goes nympho on him. Girl ends up going crazy. Guy meets another chick. Boring Japanese university stuff in the 60s happens. Guy goes to visit crazy girl in an institution. Meets her and an old woman. End up playing Norwegian Wood and talking about American music. Guy goes back to university. Crazy girl kills herself. Old woman comes to guy's home. He bangs her, emphasis on not having to pull out. The end.

(The details might be a touch off, but the gist of it is solid.)

Yay Japan!

On another note, I'm kinda jammin' for a bannin' on another non-car forum. Good times!

And THAT is really what makes me curse. It's disrespectful of the engineers who have spend years of their lives perfecting a beautiful machine.

So Tcoat, what's it like to be banned?

We'll see how it goes for me, but I royally pissed off the Admin, a Mod, and popular forum sponsor there for criticizing the forum sponsor. Technically no rules violation, but I took exception to the tone of the Admin's PM and demonstrated how I was 100% correct in my statement. In my usual... Er... Insufferable arrogant tone.
