Yeah I was looking into a roof mount for bikes (ended up going with seasucker; 100% happy btw) but the thin roof metal made me wary. If you can't fit the wheels into the trunk/rear seat area because other stuff is occupying that space (or don't want your car to smell like rubber), you could always look into a hitch and pull a small tire trailer.

I transport my surfboards by simply reclining the front seat - I use a board sock so as not to get wax or sand on my seat.
I race cyclocross and can fit my 58cm bike with room for a spare wheelset too. If I didn't have the mazda3 hatchback I would definitely get racks. |

Do you remove both wheels? I ride a 56 and it is a very tight fit. How do you get it in? front of bike first or? |

I have to load my bike through the front, with the passenger seat completely forward. I have to remove the seatpost and insert it tail end first. |

Yup if you run the towers out to the ends and play with the adjustments.

![]() On my wrx I have a 2" hitch that I use to haul trailers. I don't know if you twin owners have tried hauling with a trailer yet. I'm interested in getting a hitch for the twin when the time comes. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk |

They talk about the hitch about 1:40 mins in, seems like a relativley simple install. I've thought about doing the same but have gone with transporting my track wheels/tires in the car instead. |
