I know it was a Jk, I'm trying to get my wife to take the class with me, I was certified as a marksman when I trained to deploy, so I think the class would be fun

In TN where I live, my permit is a permit to carry on persons, concealed or not. But you would be a moron to carry around your firearm openly.

Who said anything about thinking their life is in Jeopardy? Everyone who carries a firearm is not in fear of their life, why would you think that? It's a "Rather have it and not need it, then to need it and not have it" for a LARGE majority of people out there, including myself.

BUT the self-defense thing (martial arts) is very good IMO. If both you and a criminal have self-defense training, then you're more likely to survive than if the criminal pulls a gun on you before you get yours out....
Not to mention the fact that one person can cause a LOT less injury with just some hand-to-hand skills than they can with a firearm.

You think Criminals will be less able to get a gun if you take away guns from all law abiding citizens.....LOL.

You ever been to a gun class? Easy to speculate what they teach you if you have never been. Like Martial Arts training, your self defense is the Last resort, just like your firearm is.

Example: 3rd Party Rule.

If I am in a gas station and it's about to get robbed. The robber pulls out a weapon on the clerk. Law says I can fire upon the robber since the clerk is in fear of his life are serious bodily injury.

What does the gun class teach you though....."it's better to be a good witness than to act in that situation".

However....should the robber see me, and then turn towards me with such weapon, then we have a different situation.

My hands are legal lethal as is (due to several Martial Art experience & titles), & in real life I have actual fought hand vs gun. In the end, that gun man had fracture forearm, broken fingers and 3 broken ribs. For me, I didn't have any scratch... but if that gun man had even small knowledge of martial art or knew how to shoot, I wouldn't be here. Cuz he act like gangsta and talk stupid so I took him on, but I sure never wanna do it again.

I really do not think it is wise to fight hand vs gun, but if you are experienced hand-combat expert, I guess it is up to you.

Agreed, we are not in those western movie scene anymore. Carrying a gun opening is just insane.

Another thing, I think it may be attached to this thread about the bills of rights saying that having civilian armed with firearms can protect this country. I think this is where BoostJunkie was coming from. If you are in military or have proper training, and not being a moron, carrying a gun may not be that an issue. However, there is a valid point is that if it is easy to acquire a firearm, the chance of any moron getting a gun and use it in the wrong application is very high. IMHO, there are valid points on both sides and I think there may not be a correct answer to this question.

BTW, are we talking about guns or Fonza 3 vs GT5......

Yes, but there are some cases where unmiliterized people know how to use them, I was very knowledgeable and good with guns before I went I'n the military, same with most of my family members, but I do realize there are a lot of people that don't fall under that category

Yes, like the talking of College campus kids being allowed to bare arms on campus grounds. I don't see any good coming from that, when I think of my college years.

I have a limited experience with firearms previously before applying for my permit.

In college I was apart of the ROTC and Ranger club. Very much military even though it was apart of the College. Weapons range, Land navigation, M.R.E's, BDU's, Rucksacks...the whole works. Shot 9mm, M-16 and M-60 machine gun with them. The gun range at college was better than most of the run down looking gun ranges here in my city...lol. 3yrs of College ROTC. Stopped during my Senior year, because if I continued then I would have military obligation after that.

Cali safe? . I've lived in Cali, and there is no greater hive of villany and scum. They drained the rivers from the north to water the Sacramento valley and while growing up it wasn't unusual for the rivers and creeks to dry up to little puddles during the dryer season even though there was plenty of water flowing.

I actually bought the Forza 3 platinum edition recently. Loving it. I actually spent way too much money swapping little FWD econoboxes to RWD just to see if they handled any better. The Mazda2/Fiesta duo is my favorite. But for true RWD cars I stick with Mazda's Miata and Rotary series. The RX-8 is still my favorite body but the Miata is just so much smaller and agile. I went and bought a 22B due to Ichitaka, and then converted it to RWD and swapped out the turbo engine for the flat 6. Sounds better now .

The only reason I would have chosen a console besides the Wii is because of exclusive games. I haven't liked the FF series since Secret of Mana 1 and just about anything for the PS3 or Xbox360 was on the PC which I had at one point. I'm not as big into simulation as I am into modifications so Forza3 hit the spot. Although I'm reminded how much of a noob I am when I upgrade the power and the cars just slide. I turned off all the electric nannies and started out with manual clutch so it was a crazy first race BTW. I'm actually such a terrible driver that I can barely compete with the medium level bots, easy is just a matter of finishing the race which isn't easy when you swerve as badly I do while driving.
